his main rival Shazam, whereas Julián confesses that “we had to work hard and keep focussed in order to keep Calm Days and Calabruix at bay”. Light breezes accompanied the yachts in the two regattas held in February (one to make up for the regatta that was cancelled in October due to adverse weather). The League winners continued their winning streak over the 13.4 miles, completing the course in two hours and nine minutes. Once again CVPA demonstrated its social work at the sixth race with the ELA Sailing Trophy, awarded by the Balearic Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ELA Balears). South-easterly swinging to north-easterly winds at between 8 and 12 knots dominated the races during this regatta. The winners of this charity award were once again Just The Job and Cremise. Another of the Club’s main awards and the second to last race in the “Dos Estaciones” League is the “Trofeo Presidente”, usually held over the same course: from Camp de Mar to San Juan de Dios. This route covers 22 nautical miles with the yachts fighting hard to come out on top. The winds on the way out were steady and most of the yachts unfurled their spinna-

kers, although the return to Camp de Mar was somewhat harder. The next to last race in the “Dos Estaciones” League is one of the Club’s major events. It is the “Trofeo Dos Islas” (Two Islands Trophy) this year reaching its 38th edition. The weather forecast was spot on at this tightly fought event where the

yachts sailed a 90 nautical mile route from Port d’Andratx to Tagomago and back. In fact, it was the fastest of these races to date. Right from the start there were following winds of 15 knots which Mateo Ferrer was able to capitalise on in Always, securing first place and leaving his rivals with absolutely no options.
