It’s located on top of a hill and awards you with a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding areas, but the image that most attracts locals and visitors is without a doubt the church San Agustín and the houses that surround it, buildings in pristine condition. The buildings are located in the centre of the village but keep the countryside feel of yesteryear with farmers’ houses, old wells, dry-stone constructions (no cement used) and even a refuge tower, back then used to protect against outside attacks.
It’s one of the few places on the island in such good condition, keeping its rural atmosphere with farmers’ houses and the old refuge tower. If you go for a stroll in the area you will find even more houses, some of them ancient, with great ethnographic value, as well as more refuge towers, ancient wells and an abundance of dry-stone constructions spread throughout the village.

Driving to Sant Agustí, you have to find the right turn-off on the road that connects the villages Sant Josep de sa Talaia and Sant Antoni de Portmany. The turn-off is located very near another one on the same road, the one signposted to
Sant Agustí d’Es Vedrà Pittoresk, bezaubernd, ruhig: In der Gemeinde Sant Josep de sa Talaia befindet sich ein Ort besonderer Schönheit, das Dorf Sant Agustí d’es Vedrá, das zu den größten Geheimnissen der Insel zählt. Da die Ortschaft auf dem Gipfel eines Berges liegt, hat man von hier aus einen herrlichen Panoramablick auf die gesamte Umgebung. Der größte Anziehungspunkt für Einheimische wie Besucher ist die Kirche San Agustín mit den umliegenden Gebäuden, die alle in einem perfekt erhaltenen Zustand sind. Die Bauten im Zentrum der Ortschaft strahlen die ländliche Atmosphäre früherer Zeiten aus. Es gibt viele Bauernhäuser, alte Brunnen, Trockensteinbauten (ohne Zement) und sogar einen alten Wehrturm, in dem die Bevölkerung vor Angriffen von außen Zuflucht suchen konnte. Es ist eine der wenigen Ortschaften der Insel, die ihre ursprüngliche, ländliche Atmosphäre bewahrt haben. Verteilt im ganzen Dorf findet man zahlreiche Bauernhäuser, alte Wehrtürme, historische Bauten von großem ethnographischem Wert, alte Brunnen, Zisternen und viele Trockensteinbauten.
