Our State examinations are well underway, Junior Cycle exams are nearly finished and most of the large Leaving Certificate subjects are completed too. Well done to all the students and families involved. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of the exams, supervisors, student attendants, special centers. Ms.Beere as exam aide, Ms. Coughlan who organises RACE and Ms. McConkey who undertook the exam Deputy Principal role for the first time. Great work by everyone on the team. It has indeed been another busy and excellent term in CB. From great performances on pitches, on stages at Rua Red by Music Generation students, to our Localise Film makers who had their first screening of their amazing documentary in Rua Red, to all students who received or were nominated for school awards reflecting their commitment, dedication and effort in their studies.
Another great finish to the year was our Geography Inspection, thank you to all classes visited and to the students in the focus group The official report will be published shortly but the main findings reflect the level of excellence found by the Inspectorate, the high level of student engagement, the variety of teaching methods used and the digital competence of students and teachers working together creating content, using devices in such a successful way The Inspection report praised the school systems in promoting high quality teaching and learning for all students as well as the range of extra and cocurricular activities

Darkness Into Light 2025
Students across all year groups, Student Council, ASF class and Art Council members joined forces and became super creative to represent Colaiste Bride in Darkness Into Light in Corkagh Park on Saturday May 10th. Like last year, our school has its own designated area for us to decorate which we were very excited about Over the last few weeks, the ASF class have learned the dance to this year’s theme song ‘Stand By Me’ by Lorraine from the volunteers of DIL coming into our school and teaching the dance. Our students were recorded and this was used on DIL’s official social media pages to encourage as many members of the Clondalkin community as possible to learn the moves. This was so much fun and really got our school in the mood to move for DIL!
Ms Hogan’s 5th Year LCVP class also held a bake sale and a ‘Wear Yellow to School Day’ on Friday May 9th with all proceeds going to Darkness Into Light with the help of The students incorporated this into their LCVP task for their Leaving Cert. They showed excellent leadership on the day and everyone was thrilled with their sweet treats while CB was lit up in yellow by staff and students alike! This raised over 400 euro for Pieta House, an incredible achievement.

The Art Council along with Mr. Barry came together to create a stunning piece to be displayed in the park with the caption ‘Be
Light’. This was inspired by our CEIST values, our school culture and echoed the front cover of our school journal. This piece was front and centre of our area where so many people stopped to admire it and take pictures.
Darkness Into Light 2025
The Student Council worked fabulously to design our area, order supplies and create signs for a ‘Meeting Point’ for all members of CB to gather together on the morning in order to walk together. 15 of 6th Year students also visited local businesses around Clondalkin Village and hung up tshirts and posters to help spread the word about the event They then decorated part of the area with fairy lights, yellow bunting and yellow ribbon on the Friday evening beforehand, and finished this off on the morning before the walk began with tea lights, a light box displaying our school name, the wonderful class crests created during Well-Being week by our tutor classes and our beautiful Be The Light art piece They also gave out glowsticks on the morning for CB to light up the park. Past pupil Taylor Dowling also performed on the morning as everyone walked.
We gathered together in the main carpark between 3:30 and 4am so as we could walk together as a school community. CB had a fabulous turn out, including parents, students, staff and siblings The weather was on our side and the sky lit up the park for our 5km walk It was a very special morning where beautiful memories were made A huge thank you to every single person who joined together to support CB and Darkness Into Light 2025.
