Jan. 22, 2017 Dear Judges: I humbly nominate Times-News Chief Photographer Drew Nash for the Idaho Press Club Photographer of the Year award. Nash leads our photo staff here at the paper, but it’s really his eye and knack for outstanding visual storytelling that makes him an asset in our newsroom and for our readers. No assignment is too big or small for Nash, who surprises and impresses readers with superb photography from the region’s breaking news stories, enterprise packages, sports -- even the small-town chicken dinners. He’s a household name in the Magic Valley for good reason. A longtime veteran of the Times-News, Nash still brings the enthusiasm of a rookie photographer to each shoot, and his years of experience in the field make him one of the best photographers I know in the industry. I hope you’ll hold his work in the same regard. Sincerely, Matt Christensen Times-News Editor
