Dear Judges:
It is my pleasure to nominate Times-News Chief Photographer Drew Nash for the Idaho Press Club Photographer of the Year award.
Nash began his career with the newspaper in 2009 as a freelance photographer before joining the staff in 2010. Less than five years later, he was promoted to chief photographer. His steady advancement in the newsroom mirrors his commitment to provide readers with valuable visual content
Nash has nimbly adapted to the rapidly evolving world of news media. He’s invaluable in the newsroom, teaching reporters how to navigate the challenge of digital content and how to take engaging videos with their cellphones to compete with social media.
“Drew Nash” is one of the most recognized names in the Magic Valley because of the quality of his work, his professionalism, and his personal interaction with the public.
His work speaks for itself, but, personally, I feel Nash is one of the best photographers in the Northwest.
I hope you agree.
Sincerely, Mychel Matthews Times-News Managing Editor
