Naldehra If you are headed towards Shimla, but want to avoid the chaos of the main town, then drive down around 20 km more and here is your nearest paradise on Earth - Naldehra. Just an hour’s drive from Shimla, Naldehra’s beautiful landscapes can blow your mind completely. The main attraction of this small hill station is the beautiful Golf Course, which is perhaps one of the oldest and finest in India. Once you have checked out this beauty, drive down to the apple orchards at Mashobra’s Regional Horticulture Research Centre. There are few but amazing staying options here, so it’s advisable to book your stay in advance. If you get fortunate enough to experience the snowfall here, it will surely be an experience of a lifetime.

What to see? Explore the hills by going for trekking as the treks here are easy and can be enjoyed by everyone. The golf course is a must visit. You can drive down to Shimla anytime as it’s nearby.

How to reach?

By air: Jubarhatti Airport in Shimla is the nearest one. The airport is located at a distance of 60 km from Naldehra and a taxi would cost around `1,200 from airport. By Train: Nearest railway station is Kalka, which is 112 km away. Kalka is well connected by rail with other major cities in India. Taxi fare from Kalka to Naldehra is about `2000. By Road: From Delhi take NH1 to Ambala via Karnal, then branch off on NH22 to Shimla. Proceed to Dhali and from there turn left for Naldehra. Driving down to Naldehra can get a little tiring but is surely fun. You can even book a taxi but it’s advisable to have your own vehicle as you can explore the place easily. Highlights Distance from Delhi: 355 km. Temperature: From December to February, the temperature can drop down till -4 degrees. Snowfall is very common during winter.

Ramgarh Known for its artificial lake, Ramgarh is situated at a distance of approximately 35 km from Jaipur. The beautiful lakeside, covering an area of 15.5 sq km, can bring out your poetic side with just a glimpse at it. Surrounded by the Aravalli range, the place attracts a huge number of tourists every year. The dense forest surrounding the lake and the nearby areas are home to a wide range of wildlife, including lions, chital deer and neelgai. The place was declared a wildlife sanctuary by the Government of India in 1982.

What to see? The huge artificial lake of Ramgarh is a favourite hotspot for tourists flocking to the place. The ruins of Jamwai Mata temple and its old fort lend a perfect romantic touch to the lake.
