PHASE 1 Kith
In this assignment, i discover this one claypot rice shop that sells chicken claypot rice that located at jalan sultan. I was mesmerized by the rituals of making the dishes. What special in this is they are using charcoal, where it is a traditional cooking techniques that has alive for a thousand years ago. The cooking process of using claypot absorbs the fragrance of the claypot and charcoal itself, which leaves unique smoky tastes and a scrape of the rice on the bottom of the claypot. Although that cooking with charcoal is time consuming and a burden to cook, the process of cooking the dishes plays the important part in here. Apart from that, i was drown into the environment where i saw people gathering and chatting while they were eating or chilling on the side of the street, while at the same time enjoy the scenery of the lightbox at that street. Some of them are selling food and desserts, and some of them walk and looking around. By the time i sat there with my friends to have a dinner, somehow it reminds me of a certain place in my hometown Medan, which resembles the ambiance of the environment. It reminds me of the time where me and my parents come to the place to grab something to eat or takeaways
Board 1 - A long time ago, there is a food stall opened, which located at the side of the road. Chicken claypot rice has been a dishes which known for the time consuming process of making. Starting from making the rice and cook along with the chicken, it helps with the charcoal, which it has a unique fragrant and taste in the dishes.
Board 2 - Moving on to the modernization of the era, where social media comes up and boom throughout the era, which demands on instagramable, aesthetic and unique presentation of food to attract customer and people. Most of this statement is known for Gen Z, where they prefer to sit on an aesthetic cafe, while enjoying the food and post their pictures on Instagram, while the Boomer likes to hang out at the chinese hawker food stall, enjoying the traditional food as boomer do not understand the food that is created by millenials. Gen Z might understand about this food if they are brought by their parents, and they might not aware the ritual of cooking in traditional way
Board 3 - Because of the modernization happened,to ensure this kind of food business closed in this era, i imagine to have that attraction and machinery special for Gen Z , where gen z curious about past lives when they saw cooking techniques in a manual way, as well as the ambiance of the street food itself. i also thought that the owner would not be hesitate to share and tell a story about the past on how did this food started to be everyone's favourite and teach the people of the dishes as well



PHASE 2 LIVE Project
In this assignment i will work in groups to begin proposing an exploratory live project. The scope of the project depends on you and your group and could encompass a wide array of possibilities in relation to exploratory drawings. The ideas should address the needs of the site. The designs can range from a multitude of design expressions, and these expressions can be inspired from but not limited to the whimsical, social, economical, speculative, political and poetic. All designed intentions should be intimately related to the context of the site.

PHASE 3
Glimpse of Kith
Assignment 3 represents the culmination of all the characteristics developed during Phases 1 & 2. It is the stage where glimpses of the spatial landscape principles are to be represented. The spatial landscape should reflect the narrative that i have developed and be portrayed through various mediums to align with my topic and theme (model making, animation,collages, hybrid drawings, installation etc). Additionally, i required to provide a set of speculative drawings to accompany the narrative, which will be reflected through materiality, scale, technicality and design expression throughout the development process. In this assignment, i recreate a space based on my Phase 1. I proposed a programme of communal kitchen where people can come in to experience cooking a chicken claypot rice dishes from scratch, and also learn on how to cook this dishes in traditional way such as with charcoal. They could make a hands on experience on cooking with fresh ingredients and utensils. Apart from that, i wanted to potray the sense of community where i inspired of the togetherness of the people when they sitting on the table chatting around without their phone. I also create an ambiance of nostalgia while i created a design in a quirky way that inspired from everyday objects and elements that i can found on the street.

IFirst of all, i would like to thank a lot to Miss Fatimah, Miss Yasmin, Miss Chelsea, and Miss Aisya for their guidance and have a faith to each everyone of us, including me, that we can produce something good in this semester.
In Phase 1 , i have discovered a graphics style that i wanted to present for my project. At first i am a bit skeptic on what i wanted to choose for the topic of my project, as me and my friends have been gone through the site multiple times to discover on what we wanted to do and find a things that related to ourselves. With a lot of improvisation and planning, i manage to produce a drawings of my story and i satisfied on how it turns out. I also managed to reimagined on cooperating technologies to the cooking, which i think i required to think outside the box and maybe invent on what machine might help to shorten the cooking process, which is a challenge for me.
Phase 2 have taught me a lesson of being consistent and responsible to what are we produce for our project. I was in the group that handle the wood working and structures. Somehow it might be heavy for me and my friends to work as me and my friends are only the girls who consistent to come in to complete the structures. Kit have pushed us to complete the fabrication as this is produced at the short timing. I am very proud to myself that me and my friends are easily adapt to the environment and follow on Mr Fandi’s instructions in using the tools inside the workshop. Although it is very drained process at the last of fabrication, i am proud that i could manage to contribute in helping measure and create the structure pieces. I would like to thank Kit for guiding me and my friends throughout the phase 2 timeline. Without her guidance and pushes that she gave to us, we might not be finishing our work nicely and on time.
In Phase 3, i have learned on finding my own design style that i wanted to bring for my project. It is much more onto creating a main programme to the site that i choose before. At first i was have a hard time producing good works as me and my friends are still juggling phase 2 at the same time. Transitioning from Internship until back to campus with designing innovation things is hard for me at first. Our mindset has set into logical things throughout our internship, which i found a hard time for refreshing my ideas back when i did my design in IAD 4. I have also been through down situations that made me cried and doubt to what i was trying to produce at that time. I have decided to be firm to myself and setting a plan on completing things with baby steps and one at a time. I decided to learn from senior’s work, brainstorming and trying my best to put a language that related to the process making of the claypot rice. Apart from that, as this project that we got a freedom to do whatever i want, i also found out of a bad habit of me by wanting to overdoing my work, which i think that this is not healthy to get into as i will stuck into the infinity loop with no endings. I need to set limit on doing my work to make sure it has a balance. I required to learn and reset in this matter to ensure im resilience until the end of the semester.
For the final review, me and my friends are working together to setup the hanging board. At first i thought its hard, but going through it i feel that it is easier although throwing strings is a bit tricky. My panelist comment is concerning to my topic that it is a bit hard to bring on claypot rice and i required to expand my programme by finding out other claypot dishes that used noodles, or making the claypot and charcoal. They only asked me to focus on the cooking and taste area as some people wanted to cook, but others want to sit and eat the food only. For the process making are it is only secondary, and i need to expand my programme as i got told that currently it is a small area.
Overall, i have a great time in finding my own drawing style and finding my own true self in my works. I would like to also thanks to my friends who has been discover my passion at the first place and keep supporting me from the beginning until the end. i hope that i could continue this topic until the end, and do my very best at the end of the semester for the last push.
