REFLECTION

In this module, i have learned a wide variety of joineries that i could found in daily objects, even the most simple objects that might be used and applicable in my furniture design project. I have a lot of fun and eye opening thoughts of Mr redzwan drawing techniques as well as the journal that he showed to us, and i have a lot of fun exploring more drawing styles for my weekly sketches. Apart from that, from the site that we have gone through to the factory, i have learned a lot on the process making of the furniture starting from scratch, from cutting the wood for the skeleton and make the cover from fabric into the actual furniture that we are look at our daily lives. Throughout the visit to IKEA, KIAN, I have a great insight on the designs, the materials that used, the technical aspects, even in marketing and sales of the furniture itself. Apart from that, i also have learned how to use the machines in the wood workshop. We also used the machines to make our furniture in project 2. At first it was scary, but overall i have a lot of fun in using the machines itself. It was a bit challenging for my group to finding the furniture in a secondhand shop, and also decided the design of the furniture itself. However, getting through the process throughout tons of weeks, we finally can get our furniture done as well as our boards. During the presentation it is also went good although it is a bit impromptu for my group to present. In this module, as far as i am concerned for my thoughts i think i could do more and find out in terms of source from internet and in real life i could explore more on certain objects to know how the mechanism works / joinery works and make an experience into the furniture design. A big thank you to Mr Redzwan and Mr Romzi for guiding us and teaching us throughout the semester , as well as big thank you to Mr Fandi for the tons of his help, suggestions and guidances in the process making of the furniture
