plus faibles. C’est ainsi que Marion s’est retrouvée à Antsirabé, deuxième ville de Madagascar avec une population de 200 000 habitants sans cesse grossie par un important exode rural. Le salaire moyen y est de 170Dh par mois, ce qui représente moins de 2,50Dh par membre d’une famille de 7 personnes (ce qui est la moyenne locale). A cause de cette pauvreté, l’éducation des enfants est négligée. « Grandir à Antsirabé » a ouvert un externat et un internat pour les accueillir, les former et leur donner un métier.

Marion found herself in Antsirabe, second largest city in Madagascar with a population of over 200 000 people, that keeps constantly growing because of the rural exodus. The average salary there is 170 dhs a month, which represents less than 2,50 dhs per member of a family of 7 (this corresponds to the local average). This leads to a situation of poverty where the education of children is neglected. “Grandir à Antsirabé” has opened a boarding school and a day school to welcome the children, to educate them and give them the skills for a future career. At the beginning of their stay in Madagascar the young French volunteers are granted a few days to adapt and enjoy a small vacation. On the program: Excursion to Mangily (in the southeast of the Island) and the discovery of the Isalo National Park to get to meet the lemurs, big mascots of the country. Tourism, indeed, but nonetheless a supportive and ecological action. In fact the young volunteers are received in the association’s
