SPORTSCOMPETITION:THE BOTTOMLINE

Maasin City is poised to host the 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRA) Meet, and despite grappling with a challenging budget, the collaborationwithlocalgovernment units exemplifies a profound commitment to the future of our youth.

Sports can be an expensive endeavor, yet why do we keep on pursuing such activity? Why do we spend thousands of pesos just to make it possible? On top of these, why do we shorten and even falter our learners from attending academic routines and focus on rigoroustrainings?

The answer transcends mere competition; it lies in the life skills and transformative experiences that sports can offer The Department of Education embraces its pivotal role in nurturing a culture of health and vitality among our students Article 14, Section 19 of our Constitution champions the

promotion of physical education and sports, recognizing their importance not just for athletic achievement but for fostering selfdiscipline, teamwork, and personal excellence While academic success is a cornerstone of the curriculum, integrating sports into the educational framework cultivates well-rounded individuals who are not just prepared for exams but for lifeitself.

Engaging in sports goes beyond the pursuit of victory; it is a proactive approach to instilling resilience, leadership, and discipline These invaluable traits extend far beyond the playing field, shaping our young athletes into tenacious individuals capable of overcoming hurdles while enhancing their academic pursuits. Further, sports serve as a bridge that fosters social connectivityandinclusivity.

As EVRAA Meet unfolds, it unites these young athletes from Region 8 with Maasin City is poised to host the 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRA) Meet, anddespitegrapplingwithaMaasin
