These words are more than just a slogan at Augusta Christian Schools. The writer of Proverbs says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) Psalm 127:1 states, “Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain that build it.” Our desire is to “build up” students in “their most holy faith” and instruct them in mind, body and spirit. Augusta Christian Schools is a community of Christian believers engaged not only in education, but in discipleship and spiritual growth. Each teacher, administrator, staff member and board member affirms his or her Christian commitment and faith.
Our Vision Statement is “BUILDING KINGDOM LEADERS TO SERVE JESUS CHRIST AS LORD." This vision statement is based on Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and of those on the earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
You’ve got a lot of big decisions to make. Where do I want my children to go to school? What does he want to be? What will she pursue? Of course, we can’t answer these questions for you, but we can tell you what an Augusta Christian education looks like. All dimensions of excellence are pursued at Augusta Christian in order to develop the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Are you pursuing what we’re pursuing? If so, the answer is easy. Pursue an education at Augusta Christian Schools. It may be one of the best decisions you ever made.
Augusta Christian Schools was founded on Christian values in 1958. The school offers a pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary, middle and senior high school as well as the School of Learning Support for students with special learning needs. Currently the enrollment is nearly 750 in K3-12th grades. Well over 100 churches from the CSRA are represented in Augusta Christian Schools’ student population.
The mission of the school is “preparing students to serve Jesus Christ as Lord, partnering with family and church, instilling high standards spiritually, academically, socially and physically.”
The school is incorporated as an educational, nonprofit organization and operates under the direction of a Board of Trustees. The Board determines policy, ensures that the vision, philosophy and objectives of the school are maintained and ensures fiscal stability. The Board is committed to a relationship with home, church and school in the growth and development of the child.
Augusta Christian Schools is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia (SACS).
In 1958, God led a small group of Christians with a vision for Christian education to found Augusta Christian School. It opened that first year with one teacher and a kindergarten class of 8 students.
After meeting for three years at Druid Park Church, the school moved to a facility on Golden Camp Road and was incorporated that same year. By 1972 there were 334 students in grades K-8.
Seeming tragedy struck when a fire devastated the facilities. God's faithfulness was very evident in the provision of 26 acres of property on Baston Road in Martinez.
The year 1978 was highlighted by the joyful occasion of the Augusta Christian’s first graduating class. The next few years were marked with the building of the athletic complex, including the gym and football field. In 1981, ACS was accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, and ACSI and SACS accreditations were acquired several years later. As enrollment increased a high school building was constructed in 1983 with the extension the following year. In 1996 the early childhood center was converted into a beautiful Fine Arts Center and was named after one of the school's founders, Mr. Charles B. Whitney, Sr. Our football and baseball facilities were developed over a period of years and now include updated bleachers and an athletic Field House. In 2021, the school added a beautiful new educational building, and plans for future expansion are being developed in our Long Range Plan.
God's faithfulness has been apparent in not only providing property, but by providing quality personnel who are committed to Jesus Christ as well as to Augusta Christian School. It is the continued purpose of ACS to honor Jesus Christ, believing that an education in which Christ is central will influence the entire course of a student's life.
PSALMS 16:6
“THE LINES HAVE FALLEN UNTO ME IN PLEASANT PLACES; YES, I HAVE A GOODLY HERITAGE.”
God’s faithfulness to Augusta Christian Schools has been apparent in His provision of quality faculty who are committed to Jesus Christ as well as to Augusta Christian Schools. The school’s faculty demonstrate their heart for God and for students through excellent teaching, discipleship, prayer and encouragement. Our gifted, experienced
teachers each have an established and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ, a love for children and a commitment to excellence.
In partnership with family and church, Augusta Christian teachers desire to build Kingdom Leaders spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.
Augusta Christian Schools is a community of Christian believers engaged not only in education, but in discipleship and spiritual growth. Each teacher, administrator, staff member and board member affirms his or her Christian commitment and faith.

Augusta Christian Schools’ kindergarten academic program includes advanced phonics and reading, as well as many visual aids, to enhance learning in Bible, phonics, and reading. Developmental activities re-enforce our strong academic program, and Christian curriculum is used in character development. Kindergarten students participate in the following special classes: music, library, PE, and Spanish. The K3 through 1st grade classes are located at our Fury’s Ferry Road Campus (470 Fury’s Ferry Road), one-half mile from our main campus.
Elementary school is where students first formulate a vision of what life is about. It is Augusta Christian School's purpose to provide a sound academic education with a Christian world-view. Children love to learn! It is our goal to teach them Biblical principles that will give them a foundation for life. We desire to partner with the family in educating the child in mind, spirit and body. One person referred to it as "Kingdom education." It is like planting seeds in fertile ground. While we don't always get to see the harvest of the crop, we do know that God's Word will not return void. Our hope is that we will plant the seed of God's Word in students that will bring a harvest of fruitfulness for years to come!
Augusta Christian School takes seriously the responsibility to be a quality school with certified educators and an instructional program for elementary students that is Biblically centered and encourages the educational growth of each student. All instructional areas are Christ-centered, Kingdom education. Our elementary program is a great place to begin the "Kingdom education" process of planting seeds in fertile ground. Elementary class sizes are kept small in order or provide a loving, family-like atmosphere for children to learn, grow and thrive. This also enables teachers to offer more individualized instructions. Each K3, K4 and K5 class also has a teaching assistant in the classrooms to help meet the developmental needs of each student.
In addition to our program of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and Bible, students participate in special areas. Special classes include PE, STEM, Spanish, art, music and library. Students in

“Building Kingdom Leaders” through spiritual development goes far beyond a few chapel services and Bible class. It is the essence of all we do, whether in the classroom, on the playing field, in the music room or on a field trip. The goal of every teacher, coach and staff member is to build Kingdom Leaders.
Because all truth is God’s truth, we can teach every subject and do all instruction in a way that directs the student’s attention toward Him. This is what is meant by Biblical integration: integrating the truth of God into all aspects of life at Augusta Christian.
We seek to Build Kingdom Leaders spiritually through the following:
Conducting daily devotions with prayer in each class
Daily Bible instruction included in the curriculum and Biblical truth integrated in all study areas
Prayer, discipleship and mentoring groups
Weekly chapel services
Spiritual Emphasis Weeks for secondary students
See You at the Pole and National Day of Prayer rallies
Mission and community service projects

Augusta Christian Schools Administration and Board of Trustees Building Kingdom Leaders
WE BELIEVE in, and without reservation hold to, the verbal inspiration of the Holy Scriptures as expressed in the Old and New Testaments, and accept whatever they declare to be true as the authority of God Himself speaking therein;
WE BELIEVE that there is One and only One living and true God and in the unity of the Godhead there are three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity;
WE BELIEVE that Adam and Eve were seduced by the temptations of Satan, sinned, and fell; and by this fall all mankind became dead in sin, corrupt in nature; and this corruption is transmitted from generation to generation; and, therefore, man is in need of regeneration and pardoning grace for restoration;
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, the Mediator between God and man, the second Person of the Trinity, Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary, and thus possessing two whole, perfect, and distinct natures, Godhood and manhood;
WE BELIEVE that Christ died on the cross to make a substitutionary atonement for sinners, was buried, and on the third day He arose from the dead with the same body in which He suffered, with which also He ascended into Heaven; and there sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His people, and in the Father's own time will personally return to judge men and angels and bring in the Kingdom of Glory;
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity, of the same substance and equal in power and glory with the Father and the Son, to be loved, obeyed, and worshipped; and that He regenerates men by His grace, convicts them of sin, moves them to repentance, persuades and enables them to embrace Christ by faith and unites all believers to Christ;
WE BELIEVE the Gospel of Christ and that there is no other way of salvation than that revealed in it...specifically, that saved individuals are born again into God's family by accepting and receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Savior;
WE BELIEVE that the church is the Body of Christ, and consists only of those who are born again. We believe that Christ makes intercession for His church and will come again for His church.
To maintain the values of Christian honesty and integrity in all endeavors,
To develop Kingdom Leaders who possess a profound sense of responsibility for all their actions and
beliefs,
To foster "The Great Commission" mindset in our faculty, staff and students as to understand the
magnitude and importance of serving others,
To place emphasis on our students for their surrender to God's ultimate plan for their lives and not the world's plan,
To instill in our students the value of God's infinite wisdom first and then stress the importance of
high academic achievement.
to “prepare
students to serve Jesus Christ as Lord, partnering with family and church, instilling high standards spiritually, academically, socially and physically.”
