Year-to-date, single-family homes sales in San Diego County are up nearly 8%, and attached properties are up 10%, compared to 2014. The supply of resale homes on the market slipped further, to 2.1 months, while five to six months is considered a healthy level. Homes that sold in the county were on the market for an average of 39 days.

We aren’t seeing any monster growth in home prices, which will be a good thing to maintain economic stability in the region. on the development of what is labeled as a Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) approximating the area known as the downtown Village of La Jolla. We have hired a well-known company out of Sacramento that specializes in this type of work to begin the petition and electoral process to gain approval of the affected property owners. Yes, this will be an expense that property owners will see on their tax bill. But the cost is very modest and the benefit will be immediate. We hope for approval and ratification from the City Council by the end of June 2016. We would then have maintenance and landscape crews prepared to beautify La Jolla Village in early 2017. This will be a boon to merchants and residents alike. A clean, well-maintained Village will enhance property values for owners, and be an invitation to visitors and shoppers as well.
