ou may not know you’re looking for poffertjes, but when you find them in Lynden you’ll be glad you searched. From the traditional Dutch pastry found at the Lynden Dutch Bakery in the heart of Lynden’s historic downtown to old-fashioned diner fare (think Fairway Café) and plenty of steaks to go around (try Bistro 9 at Homestead Golf Course), Lynden has options to keep you fed. Downtown, the bakery and Dutch Mothers Restaurant offer traditional Dutch favorites. But you’ll find a variety of Mexican, Thai, Greek, Italian, fish (JoFish is a new favorite for that crowd), pizza and other establishments too, not to mention

traditional down-home comfort staples. Speaking of comfort, on the west side you won’t have to look hard for Jake’s Western Grill, also a popular catering option. Of course, if you’re in a hurry, bakery and coffeecentric items can be readily found at some of Lynden’s local coffee shops or its homegrown The Woods Coffee regional chain, with three locations serving Lynden. From fresh Northwest cuisine, food with an international flair or even national chain awareness, Lynden has a bit of everything for the foodie in you, even poffertjes.
