Fall Brunches in Boston and New York 2021

After a long break due to Covid we revived the Boston and New York chapters with two brunches: November 6 in Boston and November 13 in New York. Thanks to all of you who were attending. Hopefully we will see many more of you at the next events.

A small group of final year students joined me and two Old Girls in a virtual meeting to learn more about their alumni association. We were able to acquaint them with our community platform and show them how they can get in touch with other former students. Recent graduates use the platform quite frequently to chat, and university students increasingly network with Old Boys and Old Girls to find internships.

INTERMEDIARY MEETING IN BOSTON

The brunch took place at a new place: Cafe Luna in Cambridge. The Cafe is a hip and busy place with great food and awesome service. It was so nice to visit with old friends and meet recent graduates and hear how they fared in the past two years, still at school in Zuoz or online/in person at college. Hopefully we will get back into the swing with a regular fall brunch in Boston.

NEW YORK

We are so glad that our favorite place with a huge patio is still in business: Wine: 30. We started our brunch on the patio until a wild rain and hail storm broke loose and created a waterfall next to our table, despite the closed roof. The restaurant accommodated us inside. Every attendee was here for the first time and hat recently graduated, with two 2017 graduates being the «oldest» ones. What a nice group, with many stories to tell about the Lyceum in general, the faculty, students and daily life! Special thanks to Kaan Cankiri who flew in from Indiana – just for this event. We are planning to get back to a regular spring brunch in New York, but hopefully we will see you all at the multi-day Intermediary Meeting in May 2022 in Boston.
