The growing demand for luxury pools and outdoor living spaces reflects a cultural shift towards home as a haven for relaxation and connection. Luis Vasquez, owner, designer, and project manager for Charlotte Luxury Pools, has watched this trend develop. “Since the pandemic, people want to spend more time with their families and friends at home,” he says.

Vasquez has been in the luxury pool and outdoor living space business for over twenty years and handles his projects differently than other companies. “I create a unique design for every customer. Nothing is cookie-cutter,” he says. “I go to their house to see their style and how they live so I can suggest what is best for their situation. I want to make sure everyone in the family is safe and happy.”

Today, homeowners gravitate toward water and fire features, cabanas, cooking areas, and more extensive patios. Vasquez’s focus is that whatever he designs and builds will bring the family together and that it will be an easy process for his clients. “Whatever the customer wants, whether it’s a pool, deck, or cabana, we do everything, including landscape, hardscape, and irrigation. My customers only have to have one contractor, and we are always focused on their happiness.”

With two decades in the business, Vasquez has advice for customers who are thinking about investing in a high-end pool or outdoor area. “Most salespeople don’t know anything about construction, which can lead to expensive change orders down the road. I do the design, and I oversee construction, which eliminates problems for the customer. You are the most important customer to us, but to a large franchise, you’re just another number. Getting a return phone call can take days, so always check reviews. Also, ensure you’re getting the best materials and the company isn’t trying to save money by cutting corners. We only use the best materials, equipment, and technology on the market, and we’re always investigating what’s new. In the long run, it will save you money and a lot of headaches.”
