Here’s to remarkable travels and an unforgettable gala season.

BANGKOK UNCOVERED A JOURNEY INTO ASIA’S CITY OF CONTRASTS

Bangkok is a city that refuses to be defined. It is ancient and futuristic, sacred and indulgent, frenetic yet serene. Golden temples gleam beside towering skyscrapers. Street food stalls send up plumes of smoke a stone’s throw from rooftop bars serving avantgarde cocktails. And amid the sensory overload, a quieter current flows—luxury hotels, world-class spas, and cutting-edge restaurants that elevate the Thai capital into one of the most dynamic destinations in Asia.

This is the Bangkok the world thinks it knows, but only the discerning traveller truly uncovers.

LIVING THE LUXE LIFE: BANGKOK’S HOTELS REIMAGINED

Bangkok’s hotel scene mirrors the city itself: bold, diverse, and ever-evolving. Each property offers a different way to experience the metropolis—whether through artful design, immersive hospitality, or location-driven discovery.

Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy introduces a contemporary take on longstay living without sacrificing comfort or elegance. Situated on vibrant Sukhumvit, it’s tailored to modern travellers seeking convenience and style in equal measure. Thoughtfully designed apartments balance

the familiarity of home with the polish of a hotel, creating a space where extended stays feel effortless.

Nearby, VIE Hotel Bangkok – MGallery Collection invites guests into a world of boutique sophistication. With its striking design and emphasis on art, fashion, and cuisine, the hotel embodies Bangkok’s cosmopolitan edge. It’s a place where styleseekers can immerse themselves in the city’s creative heartbeat, then retreat to chic rooms and rooftop moments of calm.

Equally compelling is Pathumwan Princess Hotel, strategically located above MBK Center. Known for blending warm Thai hospitality with international flair, the property bridges tradition and modern convenience. Guests step outside into Bangkok’s shopping haven, yet within moments, they can enjoy a serene dip in the hotel’s pool overlooking the skyline.

For those desiring global pedigree with local flair, InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit delivers. Rising in the heart of Sukhumvit, it embodies understated elegance, complete with curated dining and wellness experiences. At its heart lies The Spa by HARNN, a sanctuary of refined relaxation, which we’ll return to shortly.

Then there is Shama Petchburi 47 Bangkok, where serviced apartments meet urban sanctuary. Designed for both leisure and business travellers, Shama emphasizes community and balance—ideal for those seeking the rhythm of city life tempered by residential-style comfort.

Together, these hotels capture Bangkok’s multi-layered identity. Each offers a different vantage point, whether it’s art, convenience, elegance, or long-stay intimacy.

WELLNESS WOVEN INTO THE CITY

Bangkok may move at a breakneck pace, but it is also a city that knows how to pause. Thai wellness traditions are revered worldwide, and in Bangkok, they are elevated by design and innovation.

At The Spa by HARNN inside InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit, wellness takes the form of artistry. Grounded in ancient healing traditions and enhanced by premium ingredients, treatments are crafted as holistic journeys. Guests emerge not only renewed but also reconnected, embodying the philosophy that true wellness harmonises body and spirit.

This dedication to balance reflects Thailand’s enduring spa culture, where hospitality is infused with healing touch. For the traveller seeking calm between temple tours and urban adventures, Bangkok’s luxury spa scene provides the city’s most rewarding interludes.

A GASTRONOMIC CAPITAL

If Bangkok’s hotels and spas set the stage, its dining scene provides the drama. From Michelinstarred artistry to reinvented street food classics, the city is a playground for the palate—and the LUXE Global restaurants featured here epitomise its breadth and brilliance.

Signature Bangkok stands as one of the city’s most celebrated culinary experiences. Located on the 11th floor of VIE Hotel Bangkok, it pushes the boundaries of fine dining as the city’s first modern French and floral cuisine restaurant. Chef Thierry Drapeau crafts menus that are as poetic as they are precise, offering guests a dining experience where every course is a narrative.

For a different kind of artistry, YTSB – Yellow Tail Sushi Bar transforms traditional Japanese dining into a performance. Known for precision and freshness, YTSB delivers some of the city’s finest sushi. Here, craftsmanship is paramount, each cut and placement a tribute to centuries of Japanese culinary heritage, reinterpreted for modern Bangkok.

At Citi BiSTRo Restaurant, located within Pathumwan Princess Hotel, global flavors meet family-friendly comfort. The restaurant’s reputation for abundant buffets and interactive live stations makes it a favourite for travellers who want variety and vibrancy in a single sitting.

For Korean cuisine lovers, Kongju Korean Restaurant remains a Bangkok institution. Also at Pathumwan Princess, Kongju has mastered the art of authentic flavours, from traditional barbeque to delicately prepared classics. Dining here feels like stepping into Seoul without leaving Thailand’s capital.

Meanwhile, AVA Brasserie presents casual elegance with an international brasserie-style menu. Perfect for relaxed gatherings, it reflects Bangkok’s ability to merge sophistication with approachability.

Together, these restaurants reflect Bangkok’s status as a global culinary hub. Here, East meets West, tradition meets innovation, and every meal has the potential to be unforgettable.

THE PULSE OF THE CITY

Bangkok is not merely a stopover—it is a destination in its own right, a city that rewards curiosity and indulgence in equal measure. To uncover Bangkok is to move through layers: the gleaming temples of the Grand Palace, the floating markets alive with colour, the glittering malls of Sukhumvit, and the rooftop bars where the skyline seems to stretch into infinity.

Yet, what elevates the experience is not just what travellers see, but how they experience it. The right hotel becomes more than a base—it is part of the journey. The right spa is not simply relaxation—it is rejuvenation. And the right restaurant transforms dining into memory-making.

In this, Bangkok distinguishes itself as Asia’s luxury capital. It is a city that evolves daily yet remains timeless. A city where contrasts do not clash, but rather, coalesce into something unforgettable.

TRAVEL TAKEAWAY

To visit Bangkok is to embrace its dualities. Here, the sacred and the modern coexist, the quiet and the chaotic complement one another. For the luxury traveller, the city offers not just places to stay, dine, and relax—but experiences that embody its spirit.

From the stylish residences of Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy and the artistic flair of VIE Hotel Bangkok, to the healing hands at The Spa by HARNN, and the gastronomic theatre of Signature Bangkok and YTSB, the city offers a collection of experiences as varied as it is vibrant.

Bangkok, uncovered, is not just a destination. It is a journey into the heart of Asia’s most compelling metropolis. And it invites travellers, time and again, to return and peel back another layer.

LIQUID LUXURY: ASIA’S TOP BARS

Asia’s bar scene is as dynamic as its cities—glamorous rooftop lounges, hidden gems tucked above heritage shophouses, and temples of mixology where every pour is an art form. For the luxury traveller, choosing the right spot is about more than a drink; it’s about stepping into an atmosphere that defines the destination. Here, we present our top picks—bars that elevate cocktail culture into an experience of indulgence, style, and story.

AKOYA | STAR LOUNGE – PHUKET, THAILAND

Soaring 55 metres above sea level, AKOYA | Star Lounge pairs 360-degree views of sea and night sky with a casually sophisticated vibe. Guests enjoy signature cocktails crafted with exotic ingredients, an extensive Champagne list, and tapas-inspired bites that celebrate Thai flavours—making every visit equal parts glamour and sense of place.

AKOYA | BEACH LOUNGE – HUA HIN, THAILAND

Barefoot luxury takes center stage at AKOYA | Beach Lounge, where waves lap just steps away from your seat. Crafted cocktails are served against the soundtrack of the ocean, with lanterns and firelight adding to the romance of the evening. Perfect for those who believe that the best bars don’t always need a skyline— they simply need sand, sea, and sophistication.

THE DECK ROOFTOP BAR –HOI AN, VIETNAM

Hoi An’s timeless lantern-lit charm finds a stylish counterpart at The Deck Rooftop Bar. Overlooking the Thu Bon River, it offers a chic vantage point of the old town, blending heritage and modern elegance. Handcrafted cocktails made with premium spirits rival the vistas—perfect for sunset toasts and nights that linger under the stars.

ROGUES –BANGKOK, THAILAND

Bangkok’s energy is undeniable, but ROGUES channels it into something daringly different: a moody, art-deco-inspired hideaway with bold interiors and a rebellious spirit. Signature cocktails fuse Asian ingredients with worldclass mixology, resulting in layered flavours that surprise and delight. For those who see a bar as a stage for artistry as much as indulgence, ROGUES is an essential stop in the Thai capital.

THE ATTIC BAR –HOI AN, VIETNAM

Perched atop Hotel Royal Hoi An, The Attic Bar feels both secretive and sophisticated. Its intimate rooftop setting overlooks the Thu Bon River and the lantern-lit historic town, making it a favourite for travellers seeking a slower pace. Evenings unfold with live music, fine wines, and inventive cocktails that balance old-world charm with modern flair—a true hidden gem in Hoi An’s nightlife scene.

ATLAS BAR –SINGAPORE

Few bars in the world command presence like Atlas. Set in a soaring Art Deco space that feels more cathedral than cocktail lounge, it houses one of the world’s largest gin collections—over 1,300 bottles. With its lavish interiors, meticulous service, and refined drinks, Atlas isn’t just a bar; it’s a destination where history, glamour, and mixology meet.

THE LUXE VERDICT

QUINARY – HONG KONG

For the avant-garde cocktail enthusiast, Quinary is a revelation. Its menu is rooted in molecular mixology, delivering drinks that are as theatrical as they are delicious. Expect multi-sensory experiences—smoke, foams, textures—that surprise and delight. Bold, playful, and utterly memorable, Quinary captures the forwardthinking spirit of Hong Kong’s nightlife.

Whether you’re sipping sundowners by the sea, toasting skyline views, or savouring a cocktail crafted like fine art, these bars prove one thing: in Asia, the drinking experience goes far beyond the glass. Each stop on this list isn’t just a venue, but a story—one worth raising a glass to.

LEADING WITH VISION: KULJIT SINGH AT THE HELM OF CROWNE PLAZA KLCC

As Kuala Lumpur prepares to host the 2025 LUXE Global Awards Gala, all eyes turn to the city’s vibrant heart—where the newly acclaimed Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre will serve as the official host venue. Leading the team is Kuljit Singh, General Manager, whose career journey from finance into hospitality reflects both passion and precision. We sat down with him to learn more about his path, the hotel’s achievements, and what guests can expect when they step into this landmark property.

Let’s start with your journey. What inspired you to enter the world of hospitality, and what path led you to your current role as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre?

Having obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, I began my career with Ernst & Young. After auditing a wide range of companies, including internationally branded hotels, I realised that the day-to-day operations of hotels excited me. That was when I decided to venture into hospitality. Since then, I’ve never looked back. I first held the position of Director

of Finance before moving into the role of General Manager.

Crowne Plaza KLCC is hosting the 2025 LUXE Global Awards Gala. What does it mean for your team and the property to be the official host of this prestigious event?

We are truly honoured and privileged to host such a prestigious event where the best of the best are recognised for their achievements. Not every hotel has this opportunity, and we are excited to welcome guests for what promises to be a memorable night at the Crowne Plaza KLCC.

What sets Crowne Plaza KLCC apart from other luxury hotels in the region, especially for discerning travellers and event planners?

The Crowne Plaza brand has been a household name for 40 years, and at Crowne Plaza KLCC we are constantly connecting people, places, and possibilities with the blended traveller in mind. We aim to deliver a worldclass experience on every level, ensuring our versatile spaces, service, and connections are second to none.

Kuala Lumpur is an exciting, dynamic city. What do you think makes it an ideal destination for international guests?

Kuala Lumpur is indeed a dynamic city, and that in itself is a major attraction for international guests. The city’s infrastructure and development over the years—as a hub for tourism, conferences, and business—have established it as one of the most visited destinations in Asia. Its cultural attractions, international hotels, and world-class facilities give Kuala Lumpur a distinct edge as a favourite destination for both leisure and business travellers.

What kind of experience can guests expect when they walk through the doors of your hotel, especially those visiting for the Gala?

Guests can expect the full next-generation Crowne Plaza experience, elevated by our 5-star certification. They will discover premium meeting facilities on Level 12, including the stunning Merbau Ballroom, designed with rainforest-inspired chandeliers and bronze murals. For an unforgettable dining experience, I recommend Le Midi on Level 32. Whether it’s rooftop happy hour or a French brasserie dinner, it promises to be truly memorable.

Can you share a recent milestone or proud moment at the hotel that speaks to your team’s dedication or innovation?

Indeed. Although we’ve only been operational for just over 1.5 years, I am extremely proud that we’ve already won two highly acclaimed awards. The first was our signature restaurant, Le Midi, being recognised among the “Top 100 Restaurants of the World 2024”—one of only two restaurants in Malaysia to earn this distinction. The second was the recognition of Crowne Plaza KLCC as the “Best 5-Star Business Hotel” by the Asean Food & Travel Awards 2025. These awards are a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of our team. It is truly an honour and privilege to work alongside them.

In your leadership style, how do you strike a balance between operational excellence and maintaining a warm, people-first culture?

Having worked in this industry for

approximately 30 years, I know that a people-first culture is essential to achieving operational excellence. I truly believe that associates are the company’s greatest asset. By taking care of them and recognising their efforts, they are motivated to perform at their highest level. This naturally results in a culture that is both performance-driven and deeply people-focused.

Looking ahead, what is your vision for Crowne Plaza KLCC in the next few years, especially within Malaysia’s growing luxury hospitality landscape?

My vision is to establish Crowne Plaza KLCC as the most sought-after business hotel in Malaysia, offering world-class five-star facilities, unique versatile spaces, and the warmth of Malaysian hospitality. While more properties will enter Malaysia’s market in the years to come, I am confident that with the history and global reputation of the Crowne Plaza brand, Crowne Plaza KLCC will continue to stand out as a leader through its relentless drive for excellence.

As Kuala Lumpur shines on the global stage, Crowne Plaza KLCC exemplifies what modern luxury hospitality should be: innovative, world-class, and infused with warmth. Under the leadership of Kuljit Singh, the property has already achieved remarkable milestones in a short span of time. With its role as the host of the 2025 LUXE Global Awards Gala, the hotel reaffirms its place as a leading destination for travellers and event planners alike—where every guest experience is designed to be exceptional.

MALAYSIA AWAITS: A TALE OF TWO CITIES

Malaysia stands at a vibrant crossroads of heritage and modernity, where glittering skylines meet colonial streets, and spice-laden markets complement world-class dining. In 2025, the country rises to the global stage once more — not only as a beloved destination for travellers but also as the proud host of the LUXE Global Awards Gala in Kuala Lumpur this October. It is the perfect moment to shine a spotlight on the dual personalities that define Malaysia: the cosmopolitan energy of Kuala Lumpur and the cultural richness of Penang. KUALA LUMPUR: SOPHISTICATION AT THE HEART OF THE CAPITAL

For both work and play, the hotel stands as a modern beacon in Malaysia’s northern hub.

High-rise or hidden gem, Seoul’s nocturnal side invites discovery.

A MORNING OF LEGACY AND LIGHT

At dawn, return to Conrad Seoul for an early dip in the skylit pool, followed by aromatic blooms and smooth service at its spa—renewed for the day ahead.

Or, opt for a soak at Grand Hyatt’s spa. Then, over brunch in a hidden courtyard café, reflect on the city that balances razor-sharp modernity with soulful tradition.

SEOUL IN STYLE: TRAVEL HIGHLIGHT

In Seoul, heritage isn’t just preserved—it glows, sparking a seamless dance with innovation. By day you can stroll palace courtyards steeped in Joseon history; by night, the city shifts—cocktails in glass-walled bars, neon-lit streets alive with energy, and hotels that read like modern poetry.

That’s Seoul after dark: an intoxicating blend of silk and steel, tradition and tomorrow.
