HOWDY, Y’ALL Lewisville’s Western Days is a two-day celebration of Texas heritage and culture. Five stages featuring live performances by national and regional country recording artists highlight an authentic experience that includes a Cattle Drive parade led by Texas longhorns, gunfight re-enactments, mechanical bull rides, cooking demonstrations, a craft beer pavilion, arts and crafts vendors, a car show, children’s activities, western art exhibit, and the World Tamale Eating Championship. Previous headliners have included Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eli Young Band, Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen and Randy Rogers Band. Sept. 27-28, 2019. Old Town Lewisville. LewisvilleWesternDays.com. LET YOUR SIGHTS SOAR An explosion of color fills the sky as enormous hot-air balloons lift off at the Highland Village Balloon Festival presented by Lions Club. Spectators on the ground can get into the high-flying adventure with tethered balloon rides, a 5K fun run, classic car show and kids’ zone.
