KEY FEATURES

History
Lower Court, previously known as Lower Court Farmhouse, is thought to originate in 1265, making it 757 years old. It was the first manor house of Long Ashton and first recorded as the manor house of Ashton Philips. In the 14th century the house was divided until a Bristol merchant named Richard Ameryk started to purchase shares in the estate, until 1502 when he acquired the final portion of the manor.
In the last 1400’s Ameryk paid John Cabot the yearly sum of £20, which King Henry VII had granted him after his voyage of discovery in 1497. Many locals claim Cabot named the new land America as a compliment to Ameryk. Today, Lower Court has been sympathetically refurbished to many parts of the estate, still retaining many period features, yet offering classic and stylish 21st Century fixtures and fittings.

Three further double bedrooms are serviced by a stylish family bathroom and complete the firstfloor accommodation.
The elegant staircase leads you up to the first floor where a principal suite offers a sumptuous bedroom overlooking the gardens and lake, a well-proportioned dressing room or additional bedroom and luxurious bathroom with a roll top bath and a separate shower cubicle.
KEY FEATURES
Two further staircases lead to the third floor which consists of a gymnasium, a further reception room or additional bedroom and three storerooms giving ample storage and offer scope for further accommodation.

Outside, the gardens and grounds include two paddocks, one to the front with two stables, the other to the rear adjoining a picturesque lake with a central island. Between the paddocks are formal lawned gardens and flagstone paths with terraces and raised beds. A westerly facing terrace has an outdoor kitchen BBQ area and Gazebo, perfect for afternoon and evening dining whilst overlooking the large lawn framed by mature trees. A wooded strip of land runs alongside a small stream and behind the driveway which provides parking for many cars.
To the south of the manor house is a Grade II* Listed Chapel. Currently unused, but full of character the Chapel would make a great entertaining space or be ideal for anyone looking to use the house and grounds as a wedding venue.

Village
The popular village of Long Ashton originated in Saxon times and is one of the larger villages on the outskirts of Bristol.
