Artista plástico y Diseñador gráfico. En el 2003 comienza estudios en el Miami International University of Art and Design. El año siguiente regresa a la isla e ingresa a la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico donde culmina sus estudios con un bachillerato en Imagen y Diseño en el 2009. Siendo estudiante de La Escuela de Artes Plásticas, obtiene una beca para un viaje estudiantil a la feria de arte ARCO en Madrid. Recientemente obtuvo el primer premio otorgado por la Fundación Nacional para la Cultura Popular como “Mejor Diseño de Carátula” con la producción discográfica del cantautor puertorriqueño y nominado al Grammy Juan Pablo Díaz titulada “Fase Dos”.
Visual Artist and Graphic Designer. In 2003, started his art studies at Miami International University of Art and Design. Next year he returned to the island and got admitted to “Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico” where he earned his Graphic Design Bachelor Degree in 2009. As a student at “Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico” Alejandro won a student scholarship to visit the “ARCO” Art Fair in Madrid, Spain. In 2017, the artist was awarded with the first place “Best Album Cover” by “Fundación Nacional para la Cultura Popular” with the musical production “Fase Dos” from the singer, songwriter and Grammy Nominee Juan Pablo Díaz.

Una de las características más notables en la obra de Alejandro Rodríguez es la textura de su trazo puesto que se vale sólo de la espátula para ejecutar. Su obra se alimenta principalmente de la cotidianidad y los cambios sociales. En su más reciente obra el artista presenta una serie de retratos que reflexionan de modo nostálgico sobre cómo los seres humanos interactúan hoy dentro de un mundo saturado por los avances tecnológicos. La tecnología permite al usuario manipular su proyección. El artista propone confrontar al modelo sin filtros mayores a su percepción y presentarlo tal cual lo percibe y no como el modelo quisiera ser percibido.

One of Alejandro Rodíguez work trademarks is his textured strokes due to the use of the spatula as his main and only instrument. His work is mainly inspired by social changes and the everydayness. On his most recent work the artist presented a series of portraits that reflected in a nostalgic point of view how humans interacts between each other in a highly saturated technologic era. Technology advancements allows users to manipulate the way they reflect themselves. Alejandro intents to confront the subjects without major filters. This way he exposes the subject as it is perceived and not as the subject wants to be presented.
