Packaging made smarter.
We are Carlton Packaging, a leading designer and supplier of dispatch packaging for fulfilment operations worldwide.
At Carlton, our team is committed to making a positive impact, not only within our company but also in the wider community. With a strong focus on our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, our Senior Leadership Team ensures that we uphold the highest standards of corporate responsibility. With a dedicated Sustainability Committee that champions ESG principles, we are confident in our ability to drive positive change within our organisation and beyond.
We thrive in a culture of innovation and creativity and demonstrate a total commitment to our mission: to relentlessly embrace our innovative spirit and inspire our clients with bespoke packaging solutions that create unbeatable brand experiences that consumers love. We believe that by developing a culture of innovation, we can help our clients achieve their goals and reach new levels of success.
Our strategy focuses on three core aspects to create the most effective solution for each of our clients: smarter process, smarter service and smarter products.
A message from Carlton Packaging’s Commercial Director, Alan Magee.
“At Carlton Packaging, our mission is simple yet powerful to make packaging smarter: for people, business and our planet. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do.
For us, people before profit is more than just a statement; it’s a core value that drives everything we do. We’re committed to cuttingedge, not corners. Embracing innovation, challenging the status quo, and transforming the packaging industry with sustainable solutions. Every step forward we take is fuelled by our responsibility to both our people and our planet.
Our ESG report reflects of our commitment to continuous improvement. It highlights the key actions we’ve taken and the progress we’ve made, as well as sets out our strategy for the future, but we know there is always more to do. That’s why we welcome your feedback. We encourage you to share your ideas with us, and we’ll explore how we can integrate them into our future plans.”
We have continued along the sustainability pathway by the commissioning of our PV solar electricity generation plant, which provides much of the power for our headquarters building. With the introduction of the Plastic Packaging Tax in the UK on 1st of April 2022, requiring a minimum of 30% recycled content in all polymer-based products, Carlton innovated to provide customers with sustainable alternatives for all product ranges.
With contracts in the US, Carlton has expanded its range to clients around the globe and has set up a subsidiary company in America, Carlton Packaging Inc., to facilitate distribution across the States, Mexico and Canada.
Our talented and passionate people love nothing more than being asked “how on earth did you do that?”
At Carlton, we’ve shaped a reputation as the most knowledgeable and forward-thinking e-commerce packaging solutions provider. But we know knowledge has its limits. Imagination, however, now that’s a different story. It’s what sets us apart. It allows us to see solutions and opportunities others can’t. Creating brand enhancing, memorable packaging experiences that surprise and delight customers.
We work hand-in-hand with clients to improve efficiency and enhance consumer experiences. Flipping the packaging world on its head with bespoke systems and developing our own products. All designed to be smarter for business. Smarter for our industry. Smarter for our planet.
To make fulfilment packaging smarter for business, people and our planet.

We ensure every customer has comprehensive knowledge to ensure they can communicate with their consumers on how to recycle, reduce and re-use the materials.
Reducing waste in the manufacturing process is crucial for both environmental sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Carlton ensures that we are continuing to implement efficient strategies and practices to guarantee waste generation is minimised.
Embracing sustainable design principles can assist with waste reduction from the onset. Designing products with innovation in mind or using eco-friendly materials can significantly reduce postconsumer waste generation. It is essential for manufacturers to continually assess their processes, identify areas of improvement and implement innovative solutions to reduce waste effectively.
We ensure that our corrugated materials are FSC certified and that our business partners work according to our CSR Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct.
To ensure our business partners are adhering to sustainable sourcing, we conduct annual business partner supplier surveys, and look for business partners to be independently audited to ethical trading and International Labour Standards.

Carlton is deeply committed to minimising our environmental impact, and a key part of this strategy involves reducing material usage. We recognise that using less material not only conserves valuable resources but also minimises waste, reduces our carbon footprint, and contributes to a more sustainable future. To achieve this, we have strategically invested in cutting-edge machinery and implemented rigorous testing processes, ensuring that these material reductions never compromise product protection or the consumer experience.
Our investment in state-of-the-art machinery has been pivotal in our material reduction efforts. These investments are specifically designed for optimised material usage, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of packaging performance while using fewer resources.
Carlton is committed to continuous improvement in our sustainability efforts. We will continue to invest in innovative technologies and processes to reduce our material usage further and minimise our impact on the environment, all while maintaining the highest standards of product protection and consumer satisfaction. We believe that sustainable packaging solutions are not just good for the planet; they are also beneficial for business and the consumer.
Clean energy solutions are becoming increasingly critical as the world faces the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation. Carlton continues to make changes to help us transition to a cleaner and more sustainable business.
Some of the clean energy solutions Carlton has implemented include LED lighting, optimising equipment performance, solar power, wind power, offsetting carbon, electric vehicle fleet and utilising renewable energy sources where possible. These initiatives not only reduce carbon emissions but also contribute to cost savings and operational efficiency; truly better for business, people and our planet.

In today’s world, the impact of climate change is undeniable. Here at Carlton, we have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint and ensure we contribute to a more sustainable future. Carlton must take proactive measures to minimise its environmental impact. As a responsible and environmentally conscious company, we are fully aware of the importance of reducing our carbon emissions.
We understand that our actions have an impact on the environment and we are committed to minimising our carbon footprint. Reducing the carbon footprint of packaging material for our clients involves adopting sustainable materials and manufacturing processes. By following the reduce, reuse, recycle mantra, together with selecting eco-friendly alternatives, such as bio-degradable or recyclable materials, together we can significantly reduce the impact on the environment.
Additionally, implementing smarter and more efficient packaging designs that use less material can also contribute to reducing carbon emissions. We are committed to regularly monitoring and evaluating our carbon footprint, identifying areas where improvements can be made and implementing effective solutions. Through these efforts, we strive to mitigate climate change and create a more sustainable world for future generations.
Carlton is continuously seeking new ways to reduce its climate impact, including its innovative loop recycling programme, which collects waste from clients and returns it to the packaging production cycle, reintegrating it into the operations that generated the waste.
The company regularly reviews its operations and supply chain to identify opportunities for improvement and to implement more sustainable practices. Carlton also collaborates with industry partners, stakeholders, and customers to promote sustainability and develop innovative solutions.
Carlton recognises that its actions affect the environment and is committed to minimising that impact. By using eco-friendly materials, adopting energy-efficient processes, driving recycling initiatives, and pursuing ongoing improvements, Carlton aims to lead the way in sustainable packaging and reduce its overall climate footprint.
At Carlton, we take pride in our supply chain management. We understand the importance of efficient procurement and strong partnerships with our business partners.
When sourcing materials for our packaging solutions, we are committed to making environmentally conscious choices. We believe in minimising our impact on the environment by selecting sustainable materials and working with manufacturers who share our values.
