The regular meeting of the :lhittier PTA was held in the school auditorium onlfay 12 at 7:30 with Mrs. Ivloss presio~ing.

The minutes were approved as printed for the April meeting. The treasu.rer 1 s report showed a balance of i278.83 as of May a.

Mrs. Moss thanked everyone for a successful year.

Mrs. John Cooper installed the new officers for the 1964-65 school year.

Rev. Hill presented Mrs. Moss a past president's PTA bar for a successfu.l year.

A Style Show was given by Mrs. Grantham and Mrs. Eichler, Home Economics teachers. Girls from various classes participated.

The meeting was adjourned to the cafeteria for refreshments.

The treasurer's books were audited on June 30, 1964 by Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Counsell and found to be in good order. The balanee on hand was $256.36.

The Whittier Executive Board recommends we vote 301 ~G~INSt the proposed amendment and that the Whittier PTA contribute ~15 to the 301 Committee.

MOTHERSINGERS

Any member of PTA who would lik:e to sing is welcome to join the PTA Citywide ivlothersingers. This group si-ngs for various PTA meetings and for church groups throughout the city. It also will perform at State Convention which will be held in Lincoln next spring. They meet from 1~15 to 2i45 ever.y second and fourth Thursday in the Public School Activities Buildj.ng. Minute of the October 13, 1964 meeting

The regular meeting of the Whittier PTA was held in the school auditorium on October 13 at 7:30 with the president Mrs. Hoover presiding.

Mrs. A.dams, Program Chairman, introduced the 7th grade girls chorus under the direction of l•irs. Grah&m. They presented a beautiful musical program.

Mr. Glen ~orey gave the thought for the day on fl.Patri otism and Election Year.•

The minutes were approved as printed for the May meeting. The T reas urer!s report showed a bnlance on hand as of June 30 as $256.36.

Mrs. iioover welcomed all parents to the meeting. The next regular meeting will be in February. The j;>rograms will soon be out.

Mrs. Bockoven presente~ the proposed budget for the 1964-65 year. Mrs. Ad.ams made the motion we accept the budget as presented, seconded and carried.

Mrs. Hoover called our attention that "Mothersingers1t are wanted, also please Join PTA and also purchase the PTA Magaz:1.ne.

Mrs. Hoover introduced Mr. Priefert, principal of Whittier, who thanked all parents for attending the 7·i;h grade open house.

Mr. Priefert then introduced Mr. Ross, assistant principal, who in turn introduced the facu.l ty to th& parents.

The meeting was then adjourned for parents to visit classrooms. Refreshments were served in the cafeteria.

The program was opened by the A-.Be.nd 9 under ..vhe direction of Mrs. Gwen Adams, which played a variety of numbers, conclucUng with a very good rendition of "Alabama Bou.nd.. 11 The :program was enj.:>yed by all.

Mrs. Hoover brought us the thought for the day which was a "Sioux Indian Prayer. tt

The minutes were approved RS printed for the March meeting. The treasurer's printed ~eport showed a balance on hand April 13, 1965 of $375 0 39~

Mr. Marshall, the treasnre~r presented ch~ cks to the following groups in the school:- The Whittie1· Greenleaf ($27), the GoA.A 0 ($25) and the Whittier ActivityFund ($100) from the PTA.

Mrs. Hoove·r called our attention to the new Citizens Advisory Group which has been formed as a laison g :r oup between parents and the school bo a rd Mrs. Percy Logan is our represe~tative to this group.

Mrs. Hoover asked for nominations from the floor on each office. There being no further nominations, ~r. Marshall made the motion we cast a unanimous ballot for the slate. Seconded and carried.

Next follo~ed a Pcysical Education demonstration by the girls, and a wrestling exhibition by the boys. Both of which proved very interestirig.

The meeting was then adjourned for refreshments in the cafeteria.

Miss Swanson is retiring at the end of the current school year after serving for neaxly 20 years as principal at Hartley. A special weldoms is being extended to former students who we~e en~olled at Hartley during Miss Swanson's tenure. Families attending are welcome to bring their children.
