There was the Drama de- partment of the Woman's club and the Faculty Worn n's club this afternoon and toni ht the Axis council and the Interna- tional Relations round table will meet. Just to j g yom· memories a bit the Lancaster county Democ.ratic oman's club rally is Wednesda night at the Cornhusker hotel at 8 o'clock.

THE MOTHERS and daughters ,.1.1,..,._"._, were out in all their sprin finery Tuesday afternoon for th moth- er-daughter party given by the Whittier P. T. A. In fact there were six hundred and twe ty-five of them to be exact. Be ty Um- berger, president of the girls civic league, welcomed the mot ers and Mrs. W. W. Burr gave the response. There was a topsy dance, a newsboy dance, and a Billy Magee dance, given by Mrs. Mil- dred Ross' gymnasium class and then there was a solo dance by Betty Meier. The 8A girl chorus class, under the direction of Mrs. Katherine White, sang a group of 1 songs and Annette Smit gave a reading. Harriet Caster, la Anna Tomlinson and Freda Kraft ga e a dramatization of "Manikin an<l Minnekan." Following the pro- gram the group went to the gym- na ium where refreshments were served by the 7B and 8B mothers. During the social hour the girls from the advanced orch stra, un- der the driection of Mrs. White, played several selections. During the business se sion delegates were elected for the dis- trict convention to be held at York in April ahd Mrs. Maurice Merrill, president of the Lincoln ranch of A. A. U. W spoke on he teachers salary restoration and Mrs. J. P. Scnning from the ea,ue of Women Voters talked on "The Spoils System in Gover menl ' * *

WHITTIER P. T. A. held its annual meeting Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. C. C. Wiggans presiding in the place of the president, Mrs. W. W. Burr. The nominating committee included Mrs. V. A. Randall, chairman, Mrs. Roy Meek, Mrs. George Schlieger, Mrs. F r e d Sehnert nad Mrs. Paul Schmidt gave its report and the following ' officers were elected: Mrs. Ray Rice, pre ident; Mrs. J. 0. Wilson, vice president; Mrs. Theodore Kiesselbach, secretary; Miss Emma Madsen, treasurer, and Mrs. A. Hutchinson and Mrs. J. H. Gist, council representatives. Committee chairman named were Mrs. W. H: Larson, program; Mrs. Melille Green, social; Mr M. S. Martin, publicity; Mrs. C. C. Wiggan ways and means and Mrs. K. B. Cary, welfare.
