Vocal Music classes develop students enjoyment of music as well as their singing -abilities. Mrs. Forney emphasizes proper breathing techniques and basic music theory.

In Orchestra kids have a chance to improve their playing skills. After about three to four weeks they get a chance to show their abilities in a concert for parents and other students. Mr. Quick not only works on improving tone quality for each student but an appreciation of good music.
Students in 7th Grade Basic Studies explore geography , anthropology , economics and sociology. Along with those studies , students work to improve reading , oral expression and writing skills.
In 8th grade Ba sic Studies students research various topics concerning different periods of American History and read an accompaning novel such as Shane. Many assignments are done in groups , promoting student interaction skills.

In English you've got to study a great deal to learn. English in 9th grade covers grammar, vocabulary, individualized reading skills, appropriate writing skills and a whole lot more.
9th grade Social Studies is a full year course. Social Studies covers American Govenment and the law. Teachers discuss politics, civic participation, and responsibilities.

Small Engines is a quarter class. The assemble, and repair the engine so students study the parts of an engine. it's in r unning order again. It could Each student brings a small engine be a useful skill in the future. which they will disassemble, re-
World Of Manufacturing isn't just for boys it's for girls too! Students have the option of a one or two semester class. Cars, sconces and rockets are some of the products made. Mr. Myers stresses a w orking knowledge of production skills.
The 7th graders in World of Construction are eager to participate in the class activities, such as the concrete exercise, making a model home, and several measuring exercises. Students will develop an understanding of the business world.

Mrs. Lawrence has many types of games in addition to typing _drills, to help students develop their typing skills. A typing skill can and will come in handy in the future.
This year in Home Economics the students will be doing something totally different. There is a new program designed to allow students to work alone or in groups on projects of his or her choice.
This y ear in health Mr. David is trying something different. He ' s helping students real1ze that there are many more choices in life than . doing drugs. Students need to be reminded that saying " O" is a major alternative. He will still be working with C.P.R. disease and mental health.

The Mickle Math teachers want students to understand that math is used in everyday life. In this age of growing technology this subject becomes ever increasingly important. Math opens the door to our number systems which can be directly applied to future jobs. Students must be willing to work hard to achieve good math skills.
This year and like in years past the science program studies the human body. Also they do work with science encompassing physics, chemistry, life sciences and earth sciences. They perform experiments in each unit. Additional things they do are see films, reading transparencies and make models.
There has been changes in Spanish this year. Mrs. Melgren and Mrs. Smith share the teaching responsibilities. The beginning classes work on conversational language while the more advanced classes increase their fluency.

Stage Band is a musical group made up of ninth graders. They play rock and jazz music, they perform at various assemblies and concerts. Once a year they perform with the Misters and Misses. This musical group is directed by Mr. Quick.

Wind Ensemble , a great combination of woodwinds , percussion, and brass instruments. The students in Wind Ensemble are in eighth or ninth grade , they all have had at least two to three years of musical background. The y perform around Lincoln and have concerts during the school year Wind Ensemble is directed by Mr. Quick. 47
Red Cross is a volunteer group sponsored by Mrs. Ainslie and Ms. Bates. They do a variety of activities within the school and the community. Some of the community projects are, Christmas caroling, making cookies for the blood mobile, pumpkin decorating for nursing homes, and a food drive. Favorite school activities include the Valentine carnation sale and dances.
