Dawes Middle School was named after General Dawes because of his service in WWI and the Nobel Peace Prize he received for his work on the Dawes plan
Charles Dawes wrote a
piano piece called ff Me~ in a Majornin 1912. It was the only #1 pop single ever writen a vice president. Mr. Dawes was the Vice- President of President Calvin Coolu½e in 1955.
OBAMA
Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States on Jan. 20, 2009. The son of a black man from Ken~a and a white woman from Kansas, he was the first African-American to ascend to th~ highest office in the land.
He was also the first. new president since terrorists attacked New York and Washington on September u, 2001, the first to use the Internet to decisive political advantage, the first to insist on handling a personal smartphone while in the White House. So striking was the novel~ of his rise that he embraced it himself as a candidate he called himself "a skinn~ kid with a funn~ name" and the theme for his campaign was "change."
