This popular event in the Town calendar is now in its 8th year. Hundreds of you visit our exciting mix of food stalls in the square and come and taste the popular variety of wines on sale. This year we are moving the wine sales to Church House in Churchyard Walk, which allows us to be in the town but provide more room and comfort to our exhibitors and visitors.

Welcome to the Hitchin Wine & Food Festival We are proud to be part of the Hitchin Community and thank you all for your continued support.

The Market Place will host over 25 exciting and colourful food stalls from 10am to 4pm and there will be 10 wine merchants and a Gin Stall in Church House from 11 am to 6pm. To assist you with your wine selections there will also be informative talks from The Wine Education Company from 11am to 6pm.

We are delighted that Chef Andrew Turner has agreed to be the patron of this year’s Hitchin Wine and Food Festival. Andrew is Executive Head Chef at Alfred’s private members club in Mayfair. Previously Andrew was Executive Head Chef at The Hotel Café Royal, reaching critical acclaim with his award winning ‘grazing concept menu’ Andrew’s television appearances include BBC Saturday Kitchen, Ainsley’s Gourmet Express, Yes Chef and BBC Food Poker. Over the years Andrew has cooked for celebrities, prime ministers and rock stars.

Last year from this event we raised some £5000 and together with all of our fund raising events over the year this enabled us to support many causes and

No matter how you look at it, the general public could be more knowledgeable about wine and confident with their selection. So how can you learn more about wine?

The Wine Education Company was set up to offer unpretentious, educational and enjoyable wine events in Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas to assist wine drinkers improve their knowledge and enjoyment of wine.

During the Hitchin Wine and Food Festival we will be running wine talks to help people understand this complex and confusing topic. The wine talk will be a “10 minute wine school” and will give you the fundamentals of wine in a precise and condensed format. This along with the great selection of wines on offer presents a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in wine.
