Nectar Wine Bar and Ale House is a classic wine bar. The same style as you will find throughout the rest of the world but is unique to San Antonio. Specializing in great wine at a low price, Nectar also offers a sumptuous meat and cheese menu. The menu features not only incredible meats and cheeses but also a wide variety of food from nibbles to meal, such as pizza made with pita bread, Shrimp stacked on top of a small salad and served on toast points, and almond encrusted brie served hot out of the oven and drizzled with Amarena cherries. The interior is eclectic-chic. Bright blue and pink chairs pair with accent tables made from 100-year old barn doors. Stunning crystal chandeliers hang next to industrial spiral rimmed HVAC tubes. Walls are adorned with an ever-changing art. People clad in shorts and suits feel comfortable side by side. The whole contrasting vibe just works at Nectar. Nectar is always the place to go for a great time. Tuesday night features wine-o bingo, Wednesday night offers free wine tastings and Thursday nights are all about the arts with artistic and cultural based fashion shows and art exhibits. Open for less than a year, Nectar has already been voted by locals as Best Bar In San Antonio and Best Wine Bar in two different local magazines. On a national level Food & Wine, Cosmopolitan and Time magazines have all recognized this modestly-sized wine bar with hundreds of wines and beers. Weekenders can enjoy a $28 Ultimate Mimosa that contains skewers of caviar, muffins, smoked salmon, fruit, cheese and half a lobster tail.
