What happens if you blend London’s new jazz scene with the French city of Strasbourgh? Emile Londonien, a personal interpretation of the UK jazz tradition and the traditional French jazz scene. Broken Beat, Jazz, House or Hip Hop : it’s very difficult to put a label ons this « next gen » band of the French jazz scene. They get along very well with Léon Phal, who also plays at our festival on Friday 26.05. On a sidenote: we recommend to bring your danceshoes to this concert.

Kosmo Sound
19:00 - 20:15
This Ghent offspring of the youngest generation of Belgian jazz bands is inspired by dub, but is not necessarily indebted to it. With a background in jazz, Kosmo Sound creates an exciting, danceable and eclectic universe with tight grooves, oriental colors and spacy sound effects.

You’d be forgiven for thinking
KRANKk comes from England. Their mix of Grimey basslines, Burial-inspired atmospheres and future garage beats sound like they were brewed in a London lock-off. But really, they are from Antwerp - and put a wacky twist on their two-step rhythms with live instrumentation. Live, it’s a cannonball at speed, it’s infectiously exciting, danceable and super virtuoso.
