Brussels Vocal Project is a collective of three singers : Elsa Grégoire, François Vaiana and Anu Junnonen. Together they explore different vocal universes and work with an adapted line-up according to the needs of the chosen repertoire. With its new project ’Modern Tales’, they revisit famous fairy tales. They bring will bring along other musicians, resulting in a surprising sextet of five voices and drums.

When Franco-Belgian quintet Synestet perform, their music confounds the senses, and manifests as a mélange of colors, smells, shapes, and textures. These five musicians, enamored with improvisation and exhibiting a playful exuberance, color between the lines to form a cohesive, improvised soundscape. This new juncture in the group’s trajectory, initiated by clarinetist Hélène Duret, offers a sonic exploration which extols both the virtues of simplicity and inventiveness, and evokes the spirit of Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Giuffre, Duke Ellington, Jakob Bro, Timber Timbre.

Alex Koo Trio

Alex Koo presented his latest album Etudes for Piano at Flagey this spring, fusing his passion for both jazz and classical. The Belgian-Japanese piano wizzard does not pin himself down to particular styles or genres, and his work has been applauded by, among others, DownBeat Jazz Magazine, the international reference in the jazz world.

‘Pills and Water’ is the first solo project by artist nino_uncut aka François Vaiana. From a rave over a gospel church to a jazz club, this work explores the artist’s vast musical territory in just a few songs. It takes us on a journey through a world of poppy metaphors, references to the 90s and cinematic atmospheres. For the artist, Pills and Water is conceived as a catharsis.
