A NEW NAME
During 2019 we had the pleasure of observing a group of Year 11 students voluntarily participate in a ‘design sprint’ led by current parent Douglas Ross.
The workshop was designed to inspire the thinking for a name of our new building. The girls progressed through a series of specially - constructed activities designed to elicit their voice. They may not have named the building that afternoon, but the discussion was fascinating nonetheless, and it certainly inspired the name ultimately decided upon: SPIRITUS, the Latin word for spirit.
We look forward to the Blessing and Opening of our new building where we can meet in person and celebrate Spiritus together.
The Latin word for spirit, spiritus means 'the breath of life'.
EFFICIENT, ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGN
In accordance with the school's commitment to environmental sustainability, the design and construction of our new building is informed by green principles and innovative, sustainable design features.

STUDENT EXECUTIVE SNEAK PEEK
In early February our Student Executive enjoyed a guided tour of the site, including the glass stairwell, gymnasium, TAS rooms and the multipurpose, flexible learning environments. The students are looking forward to utilising these brilliant new spaces.

FAREWELL LOTTIE THE CRANE
The last week in April was an historic milestone for the progress of our new Innovation Centre building - the dismantling of the 82 metre tower crane known affectionately around the school as ‘Lottie’. For the last eighteen months, Lottie has been a feature of the skyline at Loreto Kirribilli, lifting tonnes of steel, concrete, glass, pavers and heavy equipment onto the site, and removing skip loads of scraps and demolition waste. With major milestones reached and the façade works completed, the next month will see the project progress rapidly towards completion. Landscaping and paving works will be finalised, final internal inspections carried out and the hoarding around the site will be removed.
