HEATHER KITSON & IAN MANN I JOINT P&F Presidents 2022

We have had a wonderful start to 2022 with fantastic attendance at a range of community events. The P&F Father Daughter Mass brought 700 dads and daughters to a beautiful Mass presided by Fr Ramesh Richards SJ. It was followed by a barbecue brunch of chat and community on the outskirts of Centenary Hall.

Between the Father Daughter Mass and the following Tuesday’s Sausage Sizzle, our Year 8 mum and dad BBQers cooked 1700 sausages. It was a massive week on the tongs!

Industry has been a large part of the P&F’s start to the school year. In keeping with our goal of being sustainable, we held many workshops to collect and sort secondhand uniforms. We then held a stall to on-sell good quality uniforms at a reduced price to many appreciative parents.

Friendships new and old were enjoyed once again at the Welcome Cocktail Party. There seemed a heightened sense of excitement at being able to celebrate as a community on the school drive. Year balloons floated high, the full moon shone over the Harbour, there was much loud chatter, intermingled with great tunes from the John Field Band. It was a wonderful evening and welcome back to the school year!

We were especially excited to have Dr Larry Vogelnest, Senior Veterinarian, Taronga Wildlife Hospital and Hannah George, CEO Mary Ward International attend our P&F Lunch at the Sergeants’ Mess at Chowder Bay. It was a privilege to have such a high calibre of speakers.

It was exciting for the Loreto Kirribilli and St Aloysius’ College P&F to join forces and host our first Companions in Learning Lunch at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. The lunch celebrated our schools’ co-companionship, which focuses on personal development, social justice, and extra-curricular activities.

Upcoming events we are looking forward to are the Mother Daughter Mass on Sunday 15 May and our Loreto Kirribilli Sports Lunch at Luna Park’s Grand Ballroom on Friday 3 June.
