Business Event Manager

pecialised in designing software systems based on the most advanced ICT technologies, NSI IT Software & Services is currently working on bringing into being a project named Business Event Manager (BEM). In order to achieve this, the company, which numbers some 240 members of staff, has taken partners on board: the Notre Dame de la e Cetic research Paix University faculties at Namur, the Trend ndy y centre and two SME’s, Smolinfo and Trendy Foods.

«The objective of the BEM project is to develop a new IT approach for the management of unforeseen incidents which could affect the logistics chain and to restabilise the system onto a known case», explains Jean-Marc Gerardy, Solution Manager at NSI IT Software & Services. «This project uses an advanced artificial intelligence engine in order to minimise the negative consequences of unplanned incidents which could be very costly, while also simplifying the design of flow management systems.» The software tool which, at the end of the study, will be created through the BEM project, will be able to applied to any logistics chain, and particularly in transport and distribution. Around twenty people have been involved in the development of the BEM project, which is set to be completed at the end of 2013 at the latest.

«L’objecti «L’objectif du projet BEM est de développer une nouvelle approche IT pour la gestion d’incidents imprévus qui peuvent affecter la chaîne logistique et de restabiliser le système de gestion sur un cas connu», explique Jean-Marc Gerardy, Solution Manager chez NSI IT Software & Services. «Ce projet utilise un moteur avancé d’intelligence artificielle dans le but de minimiser les conséquences négatives d’événements non attendus qui peuvent coûter très cher tout en simplifiant la conception des solutions de gestion de flux.» L’outil logiciel qui, au terme de l’étude, sera créé à travers le projet BEM pourra être appliqué dans n’importe quelle chaîne logistique, et notamment dans le transport et la distribution. Depuis un an, une vingtaine de personnes participent au développement du projet BEM qui devra être finalisé au plus tard fin 2013.
