EXPERT: Marielle Giai CREDENTIALS: Owner of Maison en Provence

MONDAY ¢ Monday is my day off; my two constants are yoga in my garden and lunch out. Nothing fancy, but fast and delicious. Most times we’ll go to Las Cuatro Milpas under the bridge of Coronado. You can eat in the kitchen and watch them make everything—it’s the real deal! TUESDAY ¢ Tuesday, it’s back to work and usually a hectic day with deliveries. But what I love so much about San Diego is that after work I can drive to Ocean Beach and 15 minutes later be taking a walk along Sunset Cliffs—this is my California dream! After it gets dark, we’ll head down on the other side of the hill to Old Venice restaurant to eat in the patio or hang out by the fireplace in the bar. oldvenicerestaurant.com WEDNESDAY ¢ If I do not want to cook at night, then La Bonne Table in Hillcrest is our home. The French owner and chef serve the best duck confit, blood sausages, steak frites and mousse au chocolat. THURSDAY ¢ Thursday is date night! We are lucky to have worldrenowned Chef Pascal Lorange’s new restaurant, Crudo, here in the Carmel

Valley. His menu is inspired and incredible; never been disappointed. crudopl.com FRIDAY ¢ We do not go out on Fridays or Saturdays— restaurants are packed so it is time to stock up on some good food for the weekend. [I’ll grab] cheeses at Venissimo on Washington Street on my way to work. venissimo.com SATURDAY ¢ I love to meet friends for a breakfast/brunch in one of the restaurants near my shop in Mission Hills— The Patio on Goldfinch, Brooklyn Girl and Farmer’s Bottega all have great options without the crowd of certain breakfast places. thepatioongoldfinch.com brooklyngirleatery.com SUNDAY ¢ Sunday is my other day off. One thing I can only find on weekends is the “pane chocolate” from Con Pane Rustic Breads & Cafe, the bakery in Liberty Station. It is a loaf of bread with dough mixed with cocoa powder and chunks of dark chocolate— just so good! libertystation.com/go/conpane-rustic-breads-and-cafe
