People Helping People — and making a difference…. “I can not begin to thank you and the Eagles’ 945 enough for all that you did to help our cancer patients and families at Christmas. The families were overwhelmed by your generosity and some were brought to tears. Dealing with cancer is difficult at any time of the year, but it is even more so at Christmas. Cancer can devastate a family’s

Who are we? The Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international, nonprofit organization, unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice and equality to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. For more than a century, the Fraternal Order of Eagles has had a positive influence on our region, nation, world and most importantly, in our communities. It was the Eagles that pushed for the founding of Mother’s Day, who provided the impetus for Social Security and who pushed to end job discrimination based on age. The Eagles have provided support for medical centers across the country to build and provide research for medical conditions such as spinal cord injuries, kidney disease, diabetes and Alzheimers. We raise millions of dollars each year to combat heart disease and cancer, help handicapped children, uplift the aged and to make life a little brighter for everyone. The Fraternal Order of the Eagles upholds and nourishes the values of home, family and community that are so necessary and seem so often to be ignored and trampled in today’s society. The Eagles are hometown builders. We support our police, firefighters and others who protect and serve. We help raise money for our communities. We are the Eagles, and we are “people helping people.”
