Team Loyalty!

Happy March! We are already almost a quarter of the way done with 2024, it has gone by so fast. We have added some new events, so make sure to get those requests in! Speaking about tickets, there seems to be some confusion about the process of requesting tickets.

On page 12, I explain how to request tickets, so please read the paragraph before requesting tickets and make sure it is done correctly so there is no more confusion. I will add a request form to the newsletter but if anyone needs one you can always ask me or any of your supervisors.

Thanks!!

President’s Letter

Hello Team Loyalty,

Are you ready for March Madness? I write this 10 out of the 12 months a year when writing these letters. I cannot believe that we are in the third month of the year, this year is also flying by!! The Pawn convention season is coming upon us, and we hope to be able to share some of the educational tools with many of you. Ask your manager if you have any interest in attending a conference. We will be coming out with our conference calendar soon.

As we all can see by the traffic coming into the stores and the amount of redemptions being made, tax season is here. I do not believe this will last long, so let us be careful and utilize the customer traffic count. We should end up with a great sales month, a great pawn service charge month and an extremely high customer traffic month. Please be careful in the stores and outside of the stores, as crime is also on the rise. Clients will look for opportunities if we do not stay diligent. This is also one of the greatest months to push sales, add-ons, and replacement loans. Enjoy your March, Saint Patrick's Day, and March Madness!!

Thank You,

2

Letter from the General Manager

Dear Loyalty Team,

I am thrilled to share some fantastic news about our business and financial performance in February 2024. Thanks to everyone's dedication and hard work, we experienced remarkable success that deserves to be celebrated!

First and foremost, our stellar financial performance resulted in significant tax income, enabling us to redeem loans and secure replacement loans. As expected, this month we planned on seeing an influx of clients looking to be reunited with their items. Our prediction is March will be mostly the same as February along with strong sales. This uptick is a great start for 2024!

A round of applause is in order for El Camino, which not only met but exceeded their stretch sales goal! We appreciate your dedication to excellence. Equally commendable are the achievements of Roseville and Broadway, both of which successfully reached their sales goals. Your commitment to delivering results is truly commendable, and we're proud to have such high-performing teams contributing to our collective success.

Let's also take a moment to recognize our top-performing salespeople for the month: Dominic T, Norma B, and Danni R. Your exceptional sales achievements have not only contributed to the overall success of the stores but also set a high standard for excellence within our team. Congratulations on your well-deserved recognition!

As we celebrate these achievements, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to each and every member of our team. Your hard work, determination, and focus have played a vital role in reaching these milestones. Thank you for your continued dedication to excellence.

Lastly, in the midst of our success, let's not forget the importance of good health. As we navigate through flu season, it's crucial to prioritize our well-being. Stay vigilant, practice good hygiene, and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Once again, congratulations to everyone on a remarkable month. Let's carry this momentum forward, crush our March goals and continue to achieve great things together!

Best regards,

“The key is not spending time, but investing it.” -Stephen

Loyalty Pawn Family

Greetings Loyalty Pawn family!

I can't believe we're already in March. First and foremost, I want to congratulate the stores that hit their goals last month. El Camino surpassed her 20% goal, and Broadway and Roseville surpassed her 5% goal. It's fantastic to have these goals available to us, as they give us a clear target to strive for each month throughout the year. These goals are definitely obtainable, and we have all the tools and resources necessary to achieve them. I must commend everyone for coming together and surpassing the threshold at El Camino, even though it came down to the wire. I want to address the security awareness section of the newsletter. It's crucial that everyone is reading, understanding, asking questions, role-playing, and actively participating in understanding the various security awareness measures. It's important to go back to our callback, binders, and reference materials to familiarize ourselves with these scams that are prevalent in our industry. These scams are very real, and we want to prevent them as much as possible. The newsletter contains a wealth of information on how pawnbrokers can help each other, with people warning us about the scams they encounter every day. Let's stay one step ahead and be vigilant in recognizing and dealing with these threats. Lastly, let's continue to prioritize collecting pawn service charges diligently. We've been doing a great job so far, but there is still room for improvement, particularly in reducing the low 20% range. Some stores may have more work to do than others, but let's continue to provide excellent customer service by calling our clients, reminding them, and going above and beyond to ensure a white-glove experience. Let's do everything we possibly can to help our clients retrieve their items. Remember, when we focus on something, it always gets better. It's great to see that everyone understands the importance of organic reviews and the positive impact they can have on a store. Let's keep rocking those positive reviews and make it a point to mention it to every single client that walks through our doors. We are still attracting approximately seven new clients a day, which is fantastic. However, let's make sure we ask for reviews and do our due diligence before providing any services or assistance. This month, we have the opportunity to get to know Tony Mora, the store manager of El Camino and Loyalty Luxury.

How to Verify Currency and Check Debit/Credit Cards

Introduction: Checking the authenticity of currency and verifying the legitimacy of debit and credit cards are crucial practices to ensure financial security and prevent fraud. This guide provides essential steps and tips to follow when examining currency, specifically focusing on identifying counterfeit $100 bills. Additionally, it outlines the necessary precautions to take when checking debit and credit cards, including the importance of verifying identification to match the cardholder.

I Verifying Currency:

When handling currency, especially $100 bills, it is important to check for security features that indicate their authenticity. Here are some key steps to follow:

1. Feel the Paper:Authentic U.S. currency is printed on a special blend of cotton and linen fibers, giving it a unique texture. Counterfeit bills may feel smoother or even slightly different due to the use of different materials. Pay attention to the texture and compare it to a known genuine bill.

2. 2. Observe the Security Thread: Hold the bill up to the light and look for a thin vertical strip embedded within the paper. The security thread is visible as a continuous line and typically contains small text indicating the bill's denomination. Counterfeit bills may lack the security thread or have a printed line instead of an embedded one.

3. 3. Examine the Microprinting:Authentic bills have tiny, intricate text that appears clear and crisp under magnification. Counterfeit bills may exhibit blurry or uneven microprinting, indicating a lower quality of printing.

4. 4. Check for Color-Shifting Ink: On genuine $100 bills, the ink used for the numeral in the lower right corner shifts color when tilted. Tilt the bill and observe if the color changes from copper to green or vice versa. Counterfeit bills may lack this color-shifting effect.

5. 5. Look for the Watermark: Hold the bill up to the light to see a faint image of the portrait featured on the bill. Counterfeit bills may lack a watermark or have a blurry or inconsistent image.

II. Checking Debit and Credit Cards:

When accepting debit and credit card payments, it is essential to verify the legitimacy of the card and ensure that the cardholder is present. Here are some guidelines to follow:

1. Inspect the Card's Physical Features: Check for signs of tampering, such as scratches, alterations, or peeling laminate. Verify that the card's hologram is intact and matches the issuing bank. Look for the card's logo, which should be clear and well-defined.

6

2. Examine the Card's Security Features: Modern debit and credit cards often come with security features, such as EMV chips. Ensure that the chip is present and undamaged. Look for additional security features, such as holograms, microprinting, or UV ink, which can further authenticate the card.

3. Verify Identification:Always ask for identification from the cardholder and compare it to the name on the card. Look for a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport, that includes a photo and signature. Ensure that the information matches the cardholder's appearance and signature.

4. Check forAdditional Verification Methods: Depending on the payment processing system, you may have the option to request a PIN or require the cardholder's signature for further verification.

By following these guidelines, you can enhance your ability to detect counterfeit currency and prevent fraudulent transactions when dealing with debit and credit cards. Remember to remain vigilant, trust your instincts, and seek assistance from financial institutions if you suspect any fraudulent activity. Protecting yourself and your customers from financial fraud is essential for maintaining a secure and trustworthy business environment.

El Camino

Our Team Loyalty,

Big shoutout to everyone – Ramsey, Ricardo, Norma, John, Orry, Isaac, and even Javier. We crushed it in February, and man, it felt like we were living out scenes from the Wolf of Wall Street on that trading floor. Dialing up clients, reminding them about layaways, and buzzing our A-plus clients about the fresh inventory, we were on fire.

Our target for February was $88,888.88, and I picked that number because you can't go wrong with the magic of eights. Eight brings in growth, ambition, abundance, you name it. We not only hit the goal but exceeded it, landing at $89,513.02. Now that's what I call a win. March is here, and we've set our sights on a new target of $82,000. It breaks down to $2,700 per day, and with the longer days in March, it's totally doable. Back to the trading floor grind!

Beyond just hitting numbers, we're also making waves with our Google reviews. We've been hustling, asking for them everywhere, and it's paying off. Clients are even snapping pics of us to share. Let's keep that positive momentum going. Speaking of March, it's not just about Easter being earlier this time. We've got some work to do on our layaway balance. Time to buckle down and make it happen. With our running goal of 1,500 google reviews and purchasing new items to turn for revenue we have our days ahead of us.

As we dive into this month, here's a favorite quote of mine: "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself." - Henry Ford.

Let's keep moving forward as one unstoppable team hope everyone has a great Easter with friends and their families!

Roseville

Our goal is clear: to clinch the number one spot in sales for the month of March. With our collective drive and enthusiasm, I have no doubt that we can achieve our goal. Together, we'll make March a month to remember and end the first quarter of the year on a high. Let's go, Team Roseville!

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a fantastic February and a lovely Valentine's Day! It's hard to believe that we're already entering the third month of 2024. As for what's happening here at Florin, I wanted to share some updates with you. Currently, we are still holding a strong layaway balance of $100k, but our goal is to reach $200k. To achieve this, we're actively working on locking in layaways every day. With the influx of tax money, we have a great opportunity to capitalize on increased sales. Speaking of sales, Team Florin has set a goal of $74.3k for March. I have full confidence that we can reach it! With this month's sales of 25% discount on all tools. This is the perfect chance to move any older inventory and make room for new items. In addition to boosting sales, Team Florin will be focusing on spring cleaning and organizing our showroom and warehouse shelves. We want to be prepared for the wave of loans that typically come in after tax season. As for upcoming holidays, we've already decorated the store for St. Patrick's Day and will be adding Easter decorations towards the end of March. Let's make the most of these festive occasions and drive sales!

Let's all work to push sales and achieve our goals.

“Today is always the most productive day of your week”

The Spring Equinox is on its way!

The brown buds thicken on the trees, Unbound, the free streams sing, As March leads forth across the leas The wild and windy spring.

Elizabeth Akers Allen (1832–1911)

MARCH…MORE THAN JUST ST PATRICK’S DAY

“March” is named for the Roman god of war, Mars. However, we think of it as the beginning of spring, as March brings the vernal equinox, the Full Worm Moon and the return of Daylight Saving Time! Here are important dates, gardening tips, and early spring recipes to celebrate the start of spring.

International Women’s Day was March 8th!

The world is facing many crises, ranging from geopolitical conflicts to soaring poverty levels and the escalating impacts of climate change. These challenges can only be addressed by solutions that empower women. By investing in women, we can spark change and speed the transition towards a healthier, safer, and more equal world for all!

Did you know that Women’s International Day began in New York City on March 8, 1857? It began when female textile workers marched in protest of unfair working conditions and unequal rights for women. It was one of the first organized strikes by working women, during which they called for a shorter workday and decent wages. Also on March 8, in 1908, women workers in the needle trades marched through New York City's Lower East Side to protest child labor, sweatshop working conditions, and demand women's suffrage. Beginning in 1910, March 8 became annually observed as International Women's Day. Women's History Week was instituted in 1978 in an effort to begin adding women's historyintoeducational curricula. In1987, theNational Women'sHistoryProject successfully petitioned Congress to include all of March as a celebration of the economic, political, and social contributions of women.”

CELEBRATION DAYS IN MARCH

• March 8 is International Women’s Day, which is a day that not only celebrates the achievements of women and the progress made toward women’s rights, but also brings attention to ongoing struggles for equality around the world.

• March 10 is the start of Daylight Saving Time, which begins at 2:00 A.M. that day. Don’t forget to “spring forward” and set the clocks one hour ahead, or you may find yourself an hour late to everything!

• March 10 is also the Ides of March! Legend surrounds this ill-fated day. Beware of the Ides of March!

18

• March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day. According to folklore, folks wear a shamrock on St. Patrick’s Day because the saint used its three leaves to explain the Trinity.

• March 19 brings about the March equinox also called the vernal or spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere marking the beginning of spring. In the Southern Hemisphere, this date marks the autumnal equinox and the beginning of fall. On this day, the Sun stands directly over Earth’s equator.

• March 24 marks the start of Ramadan, which begins at sundown on that day. In Islam, Ramadan is considered a holy month when a month-long, sunrise-to-sunset fast is observed.

• March 29-31 are known as the Borrowing Days. According to lore, the last three days of March have a reputation for being stormy. Be on the lookout!

• March 31st is Easter Sunday

Just for Fun March Days… Did you know that March is National Umbrella Month? Here are some more wacky things to celebrate this month:

• March 3: What If Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day?

• March 11: International Fanny Pack Day

• March 13: National Ear Muff Day

• March 16: National Panda Day

• March 16: Absolutely Incredible Kid Day

• March 23: World Meteorological Day

• March 31: World Backup Day

March Astronomy

The Full Worm Moon

March’s full Moon, the Worm Moon, reaches peak illumination on the morning of Tuesday, March 25, 2024.

Look for it on the evening of Monday, March 6, as the Moon rises above the horizon! In like Leo, Out like Aries!

In other words, The constellation Leo, the lion, rises in the east at the beginning of March and thus the month “comes in like a lion,” while Aries, the ram, sets in the west at the end of the month, and as such, the month “will go out like a lamb.”
