President’s Letter

Hello Team Loyalty,

Summer is here! My kids got out of school at the end of May, they are more excited about it than I am, however I do remember (and miss) the days of summer vacation starting so I am happy for them. We have a few small things planned to spend time and make memories with them over the summer and I hope that you all have some time to also make some memories with family and loved ones soon. I know some of you are aware I went on a trip to Europe last month. It was the trip of a lifetime and I proposed to my girlfriend, Nanci, she said yes! It was a very romantic setting, and I am so blessed that I have her in my life. I wanted to share this with my Loyalty Pawn family as making memories and sharing time with loved ones is the most important thing we have in life. Truly time is very precious. I also want to share with all of you that on Mother's Day, my mom went to the emergency room and has since been diagnosed with cancer. We are still waiting to get more results, but the doctors do have a plan, so my family does have some hope. Please keep my mother, Doreen, in your prayers and Bless you all.

On a quick business note thank you to all and congratulations to Loyalty Pawn, we have surpassed our record loan balance. That is a huge accomplishment and one that we should all be proud of. The loans will still be coming, and that means we need to push those sales to keep the company capital coming in.

Lastly, I would like to give a tremendous thank you to Wayne Silliman and Javier Becerra for their decades of hard work, they have been a part of my team for over twenty years, I appreciate everything that you have done for me throughout the years, thank you guys!! I would like to wish all you dads out there a joyful, blessed, and memorable Father’s Day!

Gratefully,

Letter from the General Manager

Greetings Everyone,

Even though May has 31 days, the month seemed to go by too fast. Now, we are getting to the beginning of the summer, school is ending, graduations are happening, and Father’s Day will be here sooner than we know it. We have enjoyed some mellow temperatures, but the high heat is just around the corner.

The top salesman of the month was Norma B. for first place. Dominic T. got 2nd place and 3rd place goes to Paul Molina. Congratulations Norma! It was close between you three. For both Norma and Dominic, approximately 20% of those sales were Layaway pick-ups. These layaway pick-ups helped push them to the top for the month. Great job!!

After reviewing the end of May numbers, it’s obvious that we are in a growth mode. We have had one of our larger months in loan growth just in the month of May 2023 than we ever had a Loyalty Pawn. Last month, our change in loan balance was $190,000.00. This speaks volumes for the state of the economy, proving the continuous demand for capital. We are seeing our loans increase while our sales are starting to plateau. We are heading into a season historically, where sales tend to lighten but we still have plenty of grade-A merchandise. Let’s continue to capture the layaway if an instant sale can’t be made.

We will soon be integrating Buya to catalog our inventory online which will be accessible through our website. We are currently working on this functionality to help build an inventory database that is reachable outside of the stores. This could be a great opportunity to help secure sales to those who haven’t visited Loyalty Pawn. We will be keeping everyone in the loop when this becomes available.

Sincerely,

3

Loyalty Pawn Family

Greetings Loyalty Pawn family,

I am proud to announce that we achieved record-breaking loan balance in the month of May! This is a testament to our hard work and commitment to serving our clients. However, we cannot be complacent. We must continue to find creative ways to convert our inventory back into dollars. Let's actively post on social media, whether it's Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Bags of Pawn, or any other outlets to sell our inventory. We should also go live and make manager specials to keep the momentum going. With our monthly sale for Dads and Grads offering 25% off all tools and electronics, we can expect to see even more success in turning our inventory back into dollars. I see no signs of this growth slowing down. This month let's also welcome Matthew Stevens, one of the newest team members of the Roseville team. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to getting to know him better. Lastly, I want to extend congratulations to any graduates and wish a happy Father's Day to all the dads in our Loyalty Pawn family! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Together, we can continue to achieve great things.

1. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? It would probably start off with me having a good lunch, then playing a round or two of disc golf and ending with an hour or two workout session.

2. Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why? Regardless of cost would be somewhere in Europe like Italy or England, but realistically it would be a cruise to Mexico or visiting my brother in Texas.

3. What was your favorite age growing up? From the ages of 10 to 14 because I witnessed the Giants build a dynasty in route to winning 3 championships in 5 years

4. Do you have a favorite holiday? Why or why not? Thanksgiving ranks at the top for me. Nothing is better than eating food and watching football surrounded by friends and family.

5. What was the last thing you read? Right now, I am in the middle of reading “The Magic of Thinking Big”, however the last book I finished was Kobe Bryant’s book which detailed his career and each one of his important matchups elegantly.

6. What was the last TV show you binge-watched? The last show I binge watched was The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime and it is a prequel to all the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.

7. Are you into podcasts or do you only listen to music? I listen to podcasts as much as I can. Two people I really like listening to regardless of the podcast they are on is Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson.

8. What's one thing that can instantly make your day better? The gym instantly makes my day better, it’s a place where my mind is blank, and I can focus on bettering myself each day.

9. What’s one goal you have for this year personally and professionally? My personal goal is to grow my stock portfolio which is in the beginning stages right now.As for professionally, I just want to give my best effort everyday regardless of the circumstances and keep that momentum building into the next year.

10. Ideally, how would you spend your birthday? I would want to be surrounded by friends and family while having one of my favorite dishes cooked by my sister.

11. What's your favorite board game? Backgammon is one of my favorites as it takes strategy and luck as well. Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time learning how to play chess.

12. What’s the best way the company can celebrate you and your team for successes? Take everyone out to dinner.\

13. What causes are you passionate about? I am passionate about breast cancer awareness because my grandma had breast cancer and thankfully, she beat it. Causes that have to do with helping veterans and animals also come to mind.

4

14. What’s an essential part of your daily routine? The gym is a must majority of the week. I feel when I don’t go then something is missing from my day.

15. Who or what inspires you in your career? My grandparents and my siblings, especially my sister Taylor. I feel like they have a lot of faith in me and I feel like it is a disservice to them if I’m not giving 100% of myself to whatever I put my mind to.

16. What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about your industry? I’m still new at this and there is a lot I do not know about this industry, but I think that for at least me I want to genuinely help people and I think a lot of people might not see it that way.

17. What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of? Getting accepted to Sac State has to be up there. It’s something I worked hard for and seeing the acceptance letter after switching my major to criminal justice made me realize that hard work does pay off even if it takes a while.

18. Do you believe in having a "five-year plan"? I do think 5 year plans do work, I feel like a lot of people set unattainable goals within those five years which makes them not work, but if you put small goals like getting a new car or save up a certain amount of money by this timeline it does wonders.

19. What’s the best piece of advice a family member has given you? Never regret any day of your life. The good days give happiness. The bad days give experiences. The worst days give lessons, and the best days give memories.

20. What is your definition of success? My definition of success is the impact I leave on people’s lives. Money and status are cool, but I feel like leaving an everlasting impact on people's lives is forever. It is the number one reason why I try my best to always have a smile on my face and have a great attitude every day.

Hello Team Loyalty,

As we approach the end of the second quarter, it’s a great time to reflect on our accomplishments and set our sights on the remainder of the year. At Roseville, we’ve been making significant strides, and one area where our efforts are clearly paying off is our online presence, Offer Up, TikTok, Facebook and Google. We are focused on getting positive Google reviews from our valued customers. These reviews are a tool to express our service and commitment we provide at Loyalty Pawn, as these reviews greatly contribute to our reputation and customer trust. Looking ahead, we have an exciting initiative on the horizon: our upcoming email campaigns. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance customer engagement and communication, we are diligently working to gather email addresses. The launch of these campaigns will enable us to share exclusive promotions, updates, and valuable content directly with our customers. By nurturing these relationships through email, we can deepen our connection and reinforce Loyalty Pawn’s commitment to exceptional service. Thank you all for your unwavering commitment to Loyalty Pawn. Your passion and dedication continue to drive our success, and I’m confident that the second half of the year holds even greater opportunities for growth and achievement. Let’s embrace the remainder of 2023 with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to excellence.

Hello Team,

Well lets just say May was a great month for the Broadway team with great new buys and loans written for the month. Having some very epic buys including some very high end guitars. We grew our layaway balance this month with the second highest amount of new layaways written and just over 40k in sales. We did really well last month and I’m really pride of the work the team did. But we will not be letting up off the gas just yet we are looking for that 1.1million loan balance this year. So to everyone on the Broadway team great job and lets keep up the great work.

Florin Mall

Loyalty Pawn Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day and a great mother’s day. Wow May was a crazy month. Team Florin grew almost $90k in loan balance in the month in May alone. We are sitting at a $1.8mil in loan balance. This is the highest loan balance Florin has ever been. Florin had a great run last month with Team El Camino to see who was going to take first place in sales. We barely beat Team El Camino with a little over $2500 and ended with $69.3k in sales. Great job Team El Camino. Lat year in June Team Florin did a total of $61.8k in sales. Florin have a few goals for this month and we know it’s going to be tuff, but we are hoping to beat last June sales by 25% which will put us at $77k for this month, another goal is to increase our layaway balance to $100k. I will be having a layaway competition for this month to see who can take first place in locking in the most layaways. June is here and it is starting to get a little hot out there. We have stocked up our fridge to keep everyone hydrated. We also wanted to congratulate all the graduates out there. This month sales in 25% off all electronics and tools. Let's end the second quarter with a bang and start off the 3rd quarter will a bang also (Independence Day).

U.S. Flag Code: Etiquette, Rules, and Guidelines

Because June 14 is Flag Day, this is a carrier over from May’s Employee Services Corner, in case you didn’t get it the first time.

On June 22, 1942, Congress passed a joint resolution, later amended on December 22, 1942, that encompassed what has come to be known as the U.S. Flag Code. Perhaps the most important guideline involves how citizens should behave around the Stars and Stripes: The flag of the United States is the emblem of our identity as a sovereign nation, which the United States of America has been for more than 200 years. For details on how to display, hoist and lower the flag, visit: https://www.almanac.com/us-flag-etiquette-rules-and-guidelines

Here are some more fun things to celebrate in June:

June 1: Say Something Nice Day

June 3: Chimborazo Day

June 6: National Yo-Yo Day

June 8: Upsy Daisy Day

On this day in 1865, Union General Gordon Granger read the Emancipation Proclamation aloud in Galveston, Texas, effectively liberating enslaved people in the state, which had thus far been beyond control of the Union Army. A significant date marking the emancipation of the last slaves in the South, June 19 was soon celebrated by former slaves in Texas as “Juneteenth.” The Emancipation Proclamation was issued by then President Abraham Lincoln, on January 1, 1863 during the midst of the Civil War. It didn't take complete effect until June 19, 1865 when the last enslaved people in the South were freed by the Union army. “…It's a day to "commemorate the hardships endured by ancestors," Walsh said. He added, "It really exemplifies the survival instinct, the ways that we as a community really make something out of nothing. ... It's about empowerment and hopefulness." And there's reason to be hopeful. After literal decades of activists campaigning for change, Congress has approved Juneteenth as a federal holiday.” To see more, and to know more about Juneteenth, please visit https://www.npr.org.
