Let’s make 2020 an amazing year here at Loyalty Pawn!

Letter from the President Hello Team Loyalty!! Where has January gone! A lot of exciting things happened in January. First January 16th marked Loyalty Pawn two-year anniversary!!! Congratulations to all of us and THANK YOU. Wayne and I attended the PawnLeaders100 which is Yigal Adato’s conference and it was EPIC. If you are not following Yigal podcast you really should, lots to learn and it is also very exciting. On Facebook it is Pawn Leaders Podcast Community, check it out!! Next up in January was the CAPA (California Pawnbrokers Association) Sacramento board meeting. Many of you may know that I am President-Elect of our statewide association which I am in this position, in October of 2020 I will transition to become the president of our association which I am excited and nervous for. I have big shoes to fill as the previous presidents have done an amazing job, but I will have great mentors there to help me become successful. During the board meeting I was also asked to become legislative co-chair which I am also excited to have accepted so I can learn, assist and lead our legislative committee to obtain legislation that protects our industry, and with our stores being located in the Capitol it makes it very convenient for our association. So, to continue, all day Monday twenty plus pawnbrokers met all day discussing legal, legislative, conventions and a lot more. This was a very successful board meeting, not all of them are!! We next had an event at the Broadway location for Assembly Member Blanca Rubio, she is the Member that is carrying our major bill this year AB1969. At this event we were able to enlighten one more of our legislatures on how relative our industry is and show her the front and the back of our operation; not only did we show Member Rubio but we also showed the twenty plus other pawnbrokers what a clean and organized operation we run. A few highlights of the event were first and foremost my brother Daniel and Ryan from Capital City Loan & Jewelry attended it was great to see them and I am happy that they came by to support our association and industry as they always have. Next I heard many compliments during that evenings event and the next day I received many compliments on the professionalism of our team members that were able to make it, the great bright and clean storefront, the organized backroom and the overall feel of our culture. This is a compliment to every one of you. I do want to give a special Thank You to Javier, John Mark, the entire team at the Broadway location and to all our team that were able to make it to the event. On Tuesday we had our annual “Walk the Halls” where we go to the state Capitol and tell our story to our elected officials; our state association board members, attorney, board members, along with Wayne, Cody and myself attended this day we met with over 30 of our elected officials and we were welcomed with open arms. I think that is amazing as we are pawnbrokers and have a reputation being not the most respected industry. I do not believe that and from the welcome we received from the California State Legislature, I do not believe they believe the old pawn reputation is what we are today. That goes to show that our vision, values and goals are making a difference to our clients, team members, our industry peers and our State Elected Officials. We will always need to continue living our core values. Thank you, Team Loyalty!! Gratefully, Stan Lukowicz

A Letter from the General Manager Hello Teams, Hope everyone is enjoying this chilling weather. It’s absolutely shocking to know how quick January went! The month flew by! We are shifting gears for this upcoming year. We are looking forward to some updates with our software, tickets and gaining some traction on the loyalty Luxury side. We are hopeful that we will begin these new changes in the software and ticket updates in the next couple of weeks. In order to stay on track with hitting the company goals, we will be discussing these often and involving everyone in weekly planning to hit our store/ company objectives. This last month, we have had the opportunity to Walk the halls at the Capitol to focus on some of the new legislative initiatives that affect the Pawn industry. The experience was great. We have a lot of assembly member friends and it’s nice to know that this is an industry that is respected even by those in top political ranks. It’s refreshing to meet those that understand the importance of our services in communities throughout California. As always, we like to mention the top three salesmen for the month of January. This last month Dominic T. sold $25,211.88, Joseph C. $14,624.55 & Marcos B. $13,649.39. These Gentlemen were the leaders in sales for January 2020! These successes from the top three are because they continue to use the tools available to them as well as engage their customers. The company will continue to feed inventory to meet the demands of our customers as frequently as possible to continue to see stores sales #’s thrive. Thank you so much for your continued hard work! We look forward to a busy productive quarter! We are going to have fantastic sales for the month of February to celebrate Valentine’s day and to help move aged inventory. We’re predicting that tax returns will be processed soon, and our customers will be by to pick up their loans and look for fantastic deals! Let’s continue to offer heroic customer service by offering our Replacement loans, sale items and layaway services and texting/emailing options. Sincerely, Wayne Silliman General Manager “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill

Loyalty Pawn Family Greetings Loyalty Family, First things first I would like to give a huge shout out to John and his team over at the Broadway location for helping us with the fundraiser for Blanca Rubio. Not only did we have Blanca and some of her staff there but some of the leading minds of California’s pawn industry too. Everyone I talked to were very impressed with how the store looked, the history of the building and pawn shop. I was giving some of them a tour of the shop and as soon as we got upstairs you should have seen the expression on everyone’s face when they saw how many bikes we have in pawned. One person even said they will never complain about how many bikes they have in their store. Thank you to everyone who were able to attend it was a great event and meeting Blanca Rubio. February is here and some and hopefully we start to see some of that tax money trickle through. This is always a great opportunity for us to make great sales and sales combinations. Let’s make sure we keep capturing client’s information to follow up with them for following sales. This month we are going to get to know David Palomares one of the more seasoned SLA’s that has been with Loyalty Pawn. He has been in the pawn industry for 8 years he currently works at the Florin mall location. He likes working at Loyalty pawn because he can positively impact someone’s life financially and can make a difference especially to those who have families. Even if it’s small loan and everyone else has turned them down we look for options to help them out. He someday wants to venture into running his own store and team and breading the culture and build future leaders with his experience and knowledge for Loyalty Pawn. David is the middle child of three his older brother Cesar and younger sister Paloma. He was born August 5th, 1986. He is a born and raised Sacramento native. Raised in West Sacramento he was always enjoyed playing sports. He would be in all different types of sports like a typical 80’s child being raised in the 90’s him and his brother were always outside with neighbors and playing sports in school. While growing David’s dad Juan instilled hard work to him and Cesar from an early age. He would lay concrete and would show the value of a hard day’s work to help the family. When he was young, he always wanted to be firefighter when I asked him why a firefighter, he said “there nothing cooler than being a hero for a living”. I guess from an early age David knew he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. David’s soccer and firefighting career came to an end when he suffered a pretty bad knee injury that still annoys him to this day. A few years after high school through mutual friends of theirs David meet his wife Ruby at a get together and now, they are three and a half years married. They just bought their house together a little over and year ago in hopes of starting a family. Now they are expecting their first child in March. David says he would have been fine with either a boy or a girl but he’s overly excited that they’re expecting a boy. Especially since all the new family members have been girls. Life has a funny way of making a full circle because the thing that David didn’t like doing at the time but now can apricate as a man he was to instill in his boy. Congratulation David and Ruby I know I speak for everyone when I say we can’t wait to meet the newest member of the Loyalty Pawn family. 4

Shop Talk Manager Updates El Camino Team Loyalty, Interesting month for us over at ELCO. We were lucky to get an old member of our team back, Welcome back Rahkell to Loyalty Pawn. Its always nice to know our company culture is such that people don't want to be away from us for too long and we are so happy to have her back. Also, We broke ground on our show room expansion and we are excited to have out project underway and being so close to the end point. We want to thank everyone for your help and hope the new show room brings an unprecedented level of success to the Loyalty Pawn. We see a very successful year coming up!

Florin Mall Hello Loyalty Pawn Family, We just finish our first month of 2020 and are very excited to move forward. What is happening at Florin, Well we have a new team member that started with us in the month of January. Her nam is Ah Xiong, this is her first time in the Pawn Industries and she is picking up fast on our services that we provide. Please reach out to her and introduce yourself. Florin is $50k away from hitting $1.8million in loan balance, we cannot wait to hit it. Taxes money is around the corner, so let’s get ready to sale. Valentines Day is here so push those jewelry sales also. Let’s have a excellent Februaury. “Nothing is more attractive then Loyalty.” Mark Xiong

Roseville Hello Team Loyalty, I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year and is looking forward to an amazing 2020! Roseville has started 2020 with a bang, we are pushing hard to hit our ONE MILLION DOLLAR sales goal for the year, and I’m confident we will hit it. We are also very excited to have a new SLA starting on the 13th of February, Juanita comes from a sales background and I’m sure she will do well at Roseville. Lastly, we are currently working with the City of Roseville to get the Loyalty Lux project back on track and we are hopeful the new store will be up and running very soon! Fun Fact: Roseville was developed on the ground marking the junction of the Central Pacific and California Central railroad lines which crossed there in the 1860s. Designated on railroad maps for years simply as "Junction," Roseville existed for decades thereafter as merely a small freight passenger railroad shipping point Justin Martinez

Monthly Birthstones Starting this month, we are going to start highlighting birthstones in the newsletter. This will help educate you about some of the more popular semi and precious stones we come across and it will also help you close some more sales. The idea is to educate you on next month’s birthstone as you can arrange your cases properly and make suggestions to our clients that may be browsing or even looking for a gift. Let’s think outside the box when utilizing this information. I am going to put January and February in here since I missed the last couple months but also March as we need to start preparing for March.

JANUARY Garnet, Garnet, the birthstone of January, is mined in a rainbow of colors. From the fiery orange of Mandarin Garnet to the rich green of Tsavorite Garnet and to the most widely recognized color of Pyrope Garnet, it is considered a great gift to symbolize friendship and trust.

FEBRUARY Amethyst, the birthstone of February, is a variety of Quartz that carries a spectacular purple color that ranges from a blend of deep violet and red to a lighter lilac hue. Ancient Greeks believed that the stone protected the wearer from drunkenness and enabled them to keep a balanced mindset.

MARCH Aquamarine, the birthstone of March, has a rich color and has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope. Its mesmerizing color ranges from pale to deep blue and are reminiscent of the sea. A perfect birthstone for March, the Aquamarine creates a beautiful accent to spring and summer wardrobes.

As everyone knows, the month of February is about romantic dinners, boxes of chocolate, lifesize stuffed animals and roses. Valentine’s day basically dictates all event occurring in the 28th day month. I bet you didn't know the following 5 facts about the month of love. #1

Shortest month of the year February is 28 days strong which makes it the shortest month of the year! #2 "Purification" Named after the Latin word, Februum which translates into "Purification" #3 The last month added to the Roman calendar February was the last month added to the calendar (technically January was added at the same time) because Romans considered winter as an "monthless" period of time. I like the way the Romans think. #4 Snow Moon The next full moon will occur on February 9th at 2:33 AM E and is known as the Snow Moon. Some Native American tribes also refer to it as the Hunger Moon or Storm Moon. 15
