INTERNATIONAL ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

After graduating from LJMU with a BA in Sport Business, I returned to pursue my academic journey. My time at LJMU was incredibly rewarding, and the support of the professors and academic staff inspired me to embark on a PhD journey. The university provided me with a strong foundation in sport business and left me with fond memories of my time in Liverpool.

The Sport Business course at LJMU offered me invaluable opportunities to gain practical experience in sports organizations and companies in the UK and around the world. The emphasis on industry experience within the course facilitated my transition to working with the International Sport Federation after graduation.

Currently, I am grateful to be working as a Graduate Trainee Tutor through LJMU’s future program. This role not only allows me to study and work but also opens doors for potential future collaboration with LJMU.

Jeeho Kim

BA Sport Business graduate from South Korea

LJMU has played a significant role in boosting my confidence, especially in terms of communication and public speaking. The university provided me with ample opportunities to attend job fairs and networking events with leading companies like Arup, which helped me gain valuable experience in these areas.

Moreover, LJMU equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to build my career. I secured a role as an International Student Ambassador with the international recruitment team through UniTemps, the LJMU internal job agency. This experience helped me realise the importance of first impressions and networking, and I learned that presenting myself well can have a significant impact on building connections that will be beneficial for my future.

Currently, I work as an Assistant building services engineer in a building consultant company in Brunei. My plan for the future is to become a professional engineer in my field of work. I also aim to serve as an inspiration to young engineers and my peers, striving to become a representative figure for women in STEM.

Amal Hussaini

An international BEng Architectural Engineering graduatefrom Brunei.
