Are you a Walker or a Talker?

Page 1

“After all is said and done…more is SAID than DONE!” I was watching a DVD by an American presenter called Larry Winget just last week, and there was a great quote he used which really hit the mark for me... “After all is said and done…more is SAID than DONE!” We’ve all been there – having conversations with individuals, and the words and the dialogue are great, however there’s always that voice in your head which just wants to short circuit the whole process. You know what I mean…cut out the small talk, the babbling and the repetition which is going on and just get to the point. Maybe with a loaded question, like… “So tell me what have you actually DONE?” Perhaps your personal style is more subtle than this. Perhaps it’s even more blunt and direct! It’s almost irrelevant...the context and message in the quote is what is critical... “After all is said and done…more is SAID than DONE!” Are you or one of your team talking a good game or are they actually playing the game? Are you talking the talk or… walking the talk? Is there too much talk and not enough ACTION? There’s no substitution for a great conversation about what you’ve actually done, as opposed to what you said you were going to do!
