Hair donation raises vital funds for the Little Princess Trust
My name is Ellie Hollingsworth, from Shefford, I am 19 years old, and I have just started a fundraising page for the Little Princess Trust. They are an amazing charity that provides real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair though cancer treatment or other conditions. I am fundraising to cut off a great length of my hair in June. I have always grown my hair long and over the past few years I have seen a few friends donate their hair to the trust and thought it was a wonderful idea, so now it is my time to give back.
Over the past year in lockdown my hair has grown so much it is now down to my hips. The trust currently has demand for longer hair donations and so I thought there is no better way to share my love for my long hair than to donate it to less fortunate young children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment and other conditions. Cancer is something that affects so many people, especially those closer to home and friends of friends. That’s why I’m doing my bit to help support this charity and raise greater awareness of cancer and the massive toll it has on people lives.
I am due to have the big chop on 14th June, and I will be documenting it with videos and pictures to share on the Little Princess Trust’s website and social media platforms.
The trust relies solely on donations and fundraisers to carry out their work supporting children and young adults, making real hair wigs, and raising awareness of cancer and research behind the disease. Therefore, I will be so grateful for any donations towards my fundraiser which all goes directly to the charity.
