Close your eyes and imagine yourself in a cave, alone, incense sticks burning, the gentle flow of water outside and birds chirping, now open your eyes...

Did you ‘feel’ it? The relaxation and calm those few moments gave you? If you did then this is what a practice of meditation can give you.

As a qualified Chopra Centre Meditation Instructor, I have helped hundreds of children and adults build a meditation routine into their life schedule. Just a few minutes a day can be so impactful to enhance your day when you have your eyes open!

OK, so what’s the catch? Do I have to invest in expensive equipment or travel to India? The answer to these questions is No, anyone can meditate, anywhere! It can be done completely independently or with the help and support of a meditation teacher like myself.

So, let’s do it, try it once and if it’s not for you, (not everything is) that’s OK...

Make sure you are in an upright seated position (laying down the chances are you will fall asleep). Eyes, keep them closed. Deep breathes, take a few of them before you start. Internally repeat the following Soul Questions… Who am I? What Do I want? What is my purpose? What am I grateful For? Then introduce the mantra So Hum*, just repeating that silently fora minute or so. And then let go of the mantra (keep the eyes closed for a few more seconds.) Then slowly open your eyes. I know, so simple isn’t it? One session of meditation at the start of your day in my experience can change the direction of your day, trust me, I’ve been meditating daily for over 10 years. Never put yourself under pressure to have a certain experience, I’m not enlightened just yet.

I really hope this insight can help you, or someone you know, it’s my dharma to spread this practice as it’s helped me and so many people I know to manage and navigate life, during but even before these Covid times.

I’d love to hear how you got on, feedback is always important, and of course if you wish to go deeper than this introduction contact me, I’m soon to be hosting my first silent retreat locally which I’m so excited about, for now Namaste and have a good day.
