E

very year we seek to showcase some of the amazing people who live and work in Peachtree Corners. And every year it gets harder to narrow down the nominations to a final few.

This city is home to excellent students and student athletes, community-minded volunteers who work to make Peachtree Corners a better place, entrepreneurs and tech experts, generous neighbors, artists, writers and everyday people who create the fabric of this place we call home.

2026’s Faces of Peachtree Corners represent all of that and more.

They are examples of the heart and spirit that makes our community a uniquely wonderful place to live and work.

Amy Massey — Founder of Light Up the Corners Amy Massey, her husband Lewis and their three children moved to Peachtree Corners from Buckhead in 1998 for the outstanding schools and to be closer to work. Massey says she immediately joined the Fowler YMCA and became involved in the organization’s community outreach programs. Seeing the positive outcomes first-hand, she joined the board of directors, where she served for 12 years.

Massey shared that she is a life-long runner, competing in AAU track and cross-country races from the time she was six years old. So, in 2012, when Peachtree Corners became Gwinnett County’s largest (“and best!”) city, she recruited some of her running partners to help organize a 5k — with proceeds going to Fowler YMCA’s annual campaign.

“Our first race was a Saturday morning 5k called ‘Run the Corners,’” she said. “It attracted about 220 runners and raised $10,000.”

Because of the number of 5k races they were competing against for participants, Massey and the other organizers decided to pivot and host a glow run the following year instead.

Now in its 13th year, the “Light Up the Corners Glow Run & Twilight Trot” has taken on a life of its own, becoming one of the city’s most beloved traditions. Each year, the event has grown in participants — from 400 in the first year to over 2,000 in 2025.

If you’ve attended local business association meetings or big events on the Town Green over the last couple of years, you’ve no doubt met Andrew and Cindy Hajduk, or at least recognize their company, Vox-Pop-Uli. As members of the PCBA, SWGC and the Rotary Club, the couple are active within the community, championing local businesses and city growth and enjoying time with friends and neighbors they’ve met since moving here.

A native Atlantan, Cindy graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1988. Andrew, a native of Dolton, Illinois and transplant to East Cobb, graduated from Sprayberry High that year as well. The two met on a blind date in 1994 and just celebrated their 30th anniversary in October.

Their business, Vox-Pop-Uli, was founded in 1996 and moved from Duluth to Peachtree Corners in 2005.

Two years ago, Andrew and Cindy became full-time residents here after finding their dream home in a neigh-

“We have loved living in Peachtree Corners,” they shared. “It’s very welcoming. We instantly connected to the community and city.”

Their favorite things? “First and foremost the people,” said Cindy. “Second, we have everything right here.

And finally, we are [close] to Atlanta, but there is a charm to this community that makes it feel like a small town.”

The Hajduk’s commitment to serving and being personally and professionally active within the community has led to success for their family-run company.

When the city mentioned naming the stage at Town Green, Cindy immediately said she wanted it. “Vox populi is Latin for ‘voice of the people,’” she explained, “so we thought it was perfect for our brand.” And the VoxStage was born.

This past year brought even more opportunities. Vox-Pop-Uli became the official City of Peachtree Corners merch providers, and they acquired 51-year-old company, JW Outfitters, greatly expanding their brand and services. They are looking forward to continued growth in 2026 and even more community involvement. ▪

Anne Case —

PTC Arts Council, Community Volunteer

Anne Case and her husband Kevin moved to Peachtree Corners from the Midwest over 33 years ago. Before settling in the area, the couple considered several different towns in metro Atlanta, but loved the community feel of PTC. “The sidewalks meant our kids could walk to school and bike to their friends’ houses,” she said. “We loved being close to the fields at Jones Bridge Park, and the proximity to the highways meant easy access to places near and far.”

Today, with four grown children and 16 grandchildren, Anne and Kevin still live in the same neighborhood and are deeply rooted in the Peachtree Corners community.

Friend Pat Bruschini shared that Anne is a “dedicated and faithful volunteer, an example of a true public servant” who is always thinking of ways to make Peachtree Corners better.

“I first met Anne in 2008 when she and I worked on the Peachtree Corners Tour of Homes fundraiser,” said Bruschini. “Right from the committee’s first meeting, Anne wasted no time in getting involved. She was full of energy

and creative ideas.”

After Tour of Homes, Anne tirelessly volunteered on other committees. She has worked on the Corners to Crossings 5K, Meals on Wheels, the Peachtree Corners Festival and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful (for her Linfield neighborhood.) She also helped form the local branch of the Friends of the Library.

For many years, Anne has volunteered at local elementary and middle schools as a tutor. And when her children were teens at Norcross High, she was instrumental in beginning the Taste of Norcross fundraiser.

These days, Anne’s community involvement is as strong as ever. For the past three years, she and Kevin have served on the PTC Arts Council, instrumental in securing the artist who painted the “dog walking” mural along Peachtree Corners Circle. She is also a new member of the recently-formed Peachtree Corners Garden Club.

“I was raised in a family that felt very strongly about giving back to the community,” Anne said, “and I’m grateful to carry on that tradition.

Volunteering is the spice of life; it gives me a sense of purpose and has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people over the years … Being able to make a difference in Peachtree Corners makes all of the work worth it!” ▪

Audie Ojeda—

Student at Greater Atlanta Christian School Audie Ojeda, a senior at Greater Atlanta Christian School, is a dedicated student who leads through hard work, collaboration and commitment to his community.

Representing the class of 2026 as Homecoming King, he also serves as a lifeguard in Peachtree Corners and plays at a competitive level as a member of the GAC Varsity Baseball team. Baseball has been a defining part of his high school experience, he shared, providing opportunities to build leadership skills, set an example for underclassmen and contribute to the team’s success in reaching the Elite Eight for the last two seasons.

Another of Audie’s most meaningful experiences at GAC came through his participation in the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Chapel. Though he said he has always loved dancing, he was hesitant to share it publicly. But performing in chapel required him to overcome his nerves, and he chose to move forward with it because he believed it was an important opportunity to lift his culture.

That experience became a proud moment for him, allowing him to share something he cared about in a meaningful way and build confidence that he now carries into other areas of his life.

As he heads towards graduation, Audie said he is grateful for the environment GAC has provided, especially the chance to learn from classmates with many different backgrounds and

experiences. The school has given him opportunities to grow, meet new people and take on responsibilities that have broadened his perspective and encouraged him to aim higher.

“GAC facilitates an amazing environment for meeting so many people from many different backgrounds and also provides opportunities to express your different cultures in a meaningful way,” he explained. “This invaluable exposure has helped me dream big and recognize how beautifully diverse the world is. This only fuels my desire to contribute in a way that may impact people positively.”

“I dream to continue inspiring and encouraging people to be confident in themselves,” he added, “and to believe in who they were meant to be.” ▪

Dave Codrea —

Greenleaf Management and The Ride Lounge Though Dave Codrea lives a few minutes north of the city, Peachtree Corners is his professional home. Both of his companies are based here on Triangle Parkway — Greenleaf Management, a real estate investment firm he co-founded in 2008 and The Ride Lounge, a private social club for car enthusiasts that launched in 2025.

“We relocated Greenleaf to Peachtree Corners in 2024 when an exceptional opportunity arose directly behind The Forum,” Codrea said. “The momentum in this city — the walkability, mix of dining, entertainment and family friendly Continued on page 20

events and the overall vision for Curiosity Lab and Technology Park — made it an easy decision.”

“Everything we value in a business location is converging here, and we wanted to be at the center of it,” he added.

About his work, Codrea shared that real estate chose him more than he chose it. “I’ve always loved the tangible process of fixing something,” he explained. “Taking a tired asset and making it better, more functional, beautiful.”

His earliest projects were renovating 19th century houses. “Greenleaf is simply the scaled-up version of that. We acquire properties with untapped potential, physically improve them and layer in strong operations so they perform at a higher level for years to come.”

Under his guidance, Greenleaf has acquired more than 4,000 multifamily units and two million square feet of commercial assets across Georgia and in neighboring states. They plan to acquire and renovate more than one million square feet of commercial space across the Atlanta market in 2026.

The Ride Lounge is more of a personal venture for Codrea, stemming from his lifelong obsession with automobiles.

“Launching it finally gave that passion a permanent home.”

His latest endeavor is podcasting, something that has grown organically from conversations Codrea was already having with people in real estate, goal-setting and the car world. “I just decided we should start recording some of them.”

Juggling multiple businesses and family can be tricky, but Codrea is making it work. “Family is the heartbeat of my schedule right now,” he said. He and his wife Sarah are raising three active kids, two of them at Wesleyan — another happy connection they have with Peachtree Corners.

“The city’s leadership has created an environment where businesses can thrive and families genuinely want to spend time,” Codrea said. “I’m grateful to be planting deeper roots here … and I’m excited to see how the city continues to evolve. It’s a special place, and we’re all in.” ▪

Charlotte Hinton —

Marketing Manager at The Forum

Charlotte Hinton’s love for marketing and events started with her work at the Georgia Aquarium. From there, she fell into marketing for CRE, working at some of Atlanta’s most iconic destinations.

These days, she spends her time in Peachtree Corners as marketing manager for The Forum, creating and organizing amazing experiences for the community.

“I started my work here in 2022 and fell in love with the city,” she said.

“What stands out for me the most is its incredible diversity. I’ve had the privilege of connecting with long-time residents who have called this city home for over 30 years, as well as young families … who have just purchased their first home here. That blend of experience and energy is what makes this community so special.”

Though Hinton lives in nearby Chamblee, she said she spends more time in her work community than in her actual neighborhood. “I have everything I need in Peachtree Corners,

from running errands for work to all of my favorite coffee spots and restaurants to all the incredible people I see every day.”

Some of her responsibilities at The Forum include supervision over creative projects, managing tenant marketing efforts and, most importantly, leading the events program.

“My goal is to create events that leave a lasting impression,” she shared, “moments that friends and families can cherish and look back on every time they visit The Forum.”

One event Hinton is most proud of was the Celebrate The Forum Grand Opening weekend. Featuring four distinct events marking the completion of the retail phase of the property’s redevelopment, it was a moment of celebration for all of the hard work that had gone into it.

She’s also proud of Bites Over PTC, which launched last year in collaboration with Town Center and the city.

“We envisioned the Peachtree Corners bridge as a focal point,” she said, “a way to provide an incredible experience for our guests and activate the idea of a little ‘downtown PTC,’ while supporting local restaurants.”

The event was a success, bringing people together for a night of food, music and sunset views from the bridge.

“I’m a person who thrives on building relationships and spending time doing what I love with people I love,” Hinton said. “Whether through events, collaborations or just casual interactions, I hope to contribute to the ongoing growth and unity of Peachtree Corners.” ▪

Billy Coxhead —

Retiring CFO of Wesleyan School A resident of Peachtree Corners since the late ‘90s, Billy Coxhead — who is retiring as CFO of Wesleyan School this year — has been wellknown and loved in the community for years.

He and his family moved into their home in Peachtree Station in November of 1997 and still live in the same house today.

“Everything you need to live is contained in Peachtree Corners: shopping, dining, grocery stores, library, post office, churches and a YMCA,” he said.

“I love the Fowler YMCA, as it is truly a neighborhood facility, and we have been members since 1998. I also love The Forum and Town Center for their dining options and the free summer concerts.”

Coxhead also appreciates that the city is full of friendly neighborhoods and areas where people can walk, jog, and ride bikes.

“Peachtree Corners has been a great place to raise our children. [It’s] safe and provides a small-town sense of community,” he continued. “We also feel like it will be a great place to live in retirement, as we do not plan on moving!

From its earliest days, Wesleyan School’s business office has been under Coxhead’s wise guidance. For twenty-nine years, he has watched the school grow from trailers and construction sites to the 86-acre campus the school enjoys today.

“One of the greatest strengths of Wesleyan’s fiscal health is that the school is debt free,” shared Chris Cleveland, head of the school. “That is virtually unheard of in the world of independent schools, and our community has Billy Coxhead to thank for his careful planning and relentless commitment to good stewardship.”

In addition to his administrative contributions to the school, Coxhead also coached Wesleyan’s boys soccer program for 23 years and enjoyed two state championships with his team. He and his wife Lori have hosted hundreds of high school soccer players in their Peachtree Corners home over the years and are beloved for their lasagna dinners and Scattergories marathons with players and friends.

“Wesleyan has been a huge part of my life and the life of my family for over 28 years,” Coxhead shared. “It is a bittersweet feeling to be retiring. However, Lori and I hope to stay connected through volunteering and coming to watch events. Wesleyan will always be a part of [our lives].”

As longtime residents, members of the Wesleyan family and dedicated supporters of multiple local organizations, the family’s connections to the city run deep.

“Billy is not only part of the fabric of Wesleyan School,” Cleveland said.

“He is a pillar in the Peachtree Corners community.” ▪

President, League of Women Voters of Gwinnett Born and raised in New Jersey, Diane Fisher and family moved to Peachtree Corners 26 years ago from Andover, MA. She’s been married to husband, Jeff, for 33 years and they have two now-grown daughters — Allison and Michelle — who currently live and work in other parts of the country.

“My husband’s job was in Tech Park, so Peachtree Corners made geographic sense,” Fisher shared. “With my oldest about to start kindergarten, we were [also] looking for a strong school system, and Gwinnett County Public Schools did not disappoint.”

centered on education. She recently retired, but for many years, assisted high school students and their families in understanding and navigating the college admission experience.

She now serves as president of the League of Women Voters of Gwinnett and is the director of voter registration for LWV of Georgia. She was drawn to the organization because of its “century-long commitment to providing non-partisan information about elections and voting.”

“We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge and the confidence to engage civically,” she explained. “I was part of a group of women who reintroduced the League to Gwinnett County in 2019.”

Since then, they’ve built a strong relationship with the Peachtree Corners Library and hope to expand their educational programming to the entire Gwinnett County Library system in

2026.

For the state League, Fisher coordinates a program that registers new American citizens to vote after their naturalization ceremonies. In 2025, volunteers assisted nearly 10,000 new citizens in filling out voter registration forms and educated them about voting in Georgia.

Long-time members of Congregation Beth Shalom, Fisher is also an active member of Hadassah, a national Jewish Women’s organization, and is an engaged alumna with her alma mater, Colgate University.

One of her favorite places to be is “in the audience watching live theater.” But she also loves spending time outdoors, grateful to have Simpsonwood and Jones Bridge Parks close by.

“What we love most about PTC [though] is the people,” she said. “When we moved here, we knew no one. We now have friends who are like family.” ▪

Gail Lenahan —

Artist and Member of Norcross Gallery & Studios Gail Lenahan has been described as a one-woman powerhouse. As an active member of Norcross Gallery & Studios, she creates her own artwork, helps recruit artists and manages the changing displays at The Rectory, the Norcross Welcome Center, the Cultural Arts Center, the Norcross Library and 45 South Café.

She initiated the partnership with the café, which now hosts the gallery’s Artist of the Month exhibits. She’s also the facilities chair at the gallery’s Carlyle Street building, supervising landscaping, cleaning, supplies and, from time to time, the artists who use the open studios.

Lenahan herself is a talented fabric artist. Her journey into art began in childhood, with mosaic and crafting projects that she worked on with friends. She was also involved in chorus and high school musicals, and her first summer job was working in an art program for kids. In college, she performed with the chorus and musical performance group, as well as the school dance group.

Despite her love of art and music, she found herself on a different path when her father enrolled her in nursing school.

“I lost my connections to music, dance and art opportunities for many years as I worked in various fields of nursing,” she shared. But her nursing license allowed her to live and work in different parts of the country — something she had always wanted to do.

Lenahan, husband Richard and their two sons moved to Peachtree Corners in 1993, though at the time, she says, “the neighborhood was considered Norcross.”

In 2009, she started making t-shirt

quilts for graduating students. Her fabric collage work began after she retired in 2019. “I just started gluing fabric on canvas, making a variety of fish, adding some twine, beads and buttons for a bit of bling,” she said.

When she’d made enough pieces, she rented booth space at Lake Hartwell’s Octoberfest and sold almost everything. “And that’s how it all began. I don’t know that it is an art or craft…all I know is that lots of people like them.”

“Children, students and adults should be exposed to original artwork,” she added. “Look at the colors, wonder how it was made … be able to say ‘Oh, I can do that’ or ‘I’d like to learn to do that.’ When I joined Norcross Gallery & Studios, I felt … I was finally in my best place. Whether I worked as a nurse, accountant or plumber, I think I would have always come around to exploring more of the arts.” ▪

Brooklyn and Sayla Flook — Students at Cornerstone Christian Academy

Brooklyn and Sayla Flook (ages 13 and 12, respectively) are not your typical teen and preteen sisters. Yes, they’re both students at Cornerstone Christian Academy, but they are also crafters and entrepreneurs.

When Brooklyn was six, she asked her parents what she could do to make money. Why? Because she wanted to go to Disney World. Her parents helped her decide on making and selling cupcakes and agreed to match the amount raised. Sayla was recruited to help with the project, Brooklyn sent out messages to neighbors, friends and family to market the treats, and within a week, had 16 dozen orders.

They eventually raised enough for the Disney trip, and the girls’ entrepreneurial spirit took off.

Though Peachtree Corners resident, Gregory E. Lang, has lived in Gwinnett County since 1990, it was seven years ago that he made the move to PTC after finding the perfect house for himself and his wife, her father and their three dogs in the Amberfield neighborhood.

“We love how walkable the community is within a three-mile radius of our home,” he said. “The walkability of so many areas, the parks and nearby conveniences make living here so easy.”

For over 40 years, Lang worked in healthcare — inpatient care, managed care, practice management and EMR technology — and served 12 years as the CEO of Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett.

He stepped down from the CEO position in 2023 and into the role of Chief Financial Officer for a while. Although

now retired from the nonprofit, he said he will remain involved with Good Samaritan “to see a construction project through to completion.”

Lang was there in April of 2025 when Good Samaritan’s new Screening & Prevention Annex opened at its East Gwinnett facility. The building was dedicated to him in honor of his years of leadership and connection to the project.

In the early 2000s, inspired by his love for his child, Lang switched gears and began writing. His first book, “Why a Daughter Needs a Dad,” was published in 2002 to much success.

He’s been writing ever since.

Today he’s best known as an award-winning author, with more than 50 books published, over 7 million copies sold and 21 appearances on the “New York Times Best Sellers List.”

He writes and publishes in multiple genres — advice, inspiration, Christian devotions, children’s books and fiction.

Some works are traditionally published, others (by choice) are self-published.

Lang expresses his creativity in other ways as well. He illustrates his children’s books himself and is an avid travel photographer, with more than 600 published photos.

Lang said his inspiration continues to come “from family experiences and faith.” And he has many more books planned .

“I recently self-published “Let’s Be Friends!,” a picture book for my grandchildren,” he said. “I plan to self-publish another children’s book in 2026, and I have five titles scheduled for traditional publication in 2027.” ▪

Student at Greater Atlanta Christian School Juliette Dill, a senior at Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC), is passionate about serving her community. She leads through her roles as co-captain of the GAC Beta Club, vice president of the National Honor Society and as a mentor to middle school girls in her church — all while staying actively involved in several of GAC’s co-curricular programs.

In the Beta Club, Juliette has played a key role in planning the Special Olympics athletic events that are held at GAC each winter and spring. She not only helps train volunteers and support the special education teachers, she also manages logistical details for the bi-annual event.

One of her favorite things about being part of the event, she said, is watching her peers “wholeheartedly serve and create joy for both the students and teachers involved.”

Outside of school, Juliette is just as invested in helping others. Each Sunday, she worships at North Point Community Church and leads middle school girls in conversations about their Christian faith, a role that brings her deep fulfillment.

Though giving back is a huge part of who Juliette is, her gifts extend beyond her dedication to service and leadership. She also excels in athletic and creative endeavors as captain of the GAC flagline and basketball cheer teams and as a crew member for the school’s annual spring musical.

Additionally, she has served as a GAC Admissions Ambassador, providing a warm and friendly welcome to new

students and families.

“Juliette is well organized, creative and diligent,” said Jo Ann Waldrop, a high school teacher at GAC. “She is also encouraging and respectful. She has great ideas and really thinks through how to execute her ideas. If there is a problem, she doesn’t complain but thinks of solutions.”

Juliette shared that she plans to attend Samford University after graduating from GAC, majoring in marketing. The support of her teachers, peers and coaches — along with the positive experiences she’s had at GAC and in the local community — have shaped her into a confident leader ready to make an impact in her next chapter. ▪

James Garmon —

Graduate of Norcross High School, Cadet at West Point Born to an American father and an Albanian-American mother who grew up behind the Iron Curtain, James Garmon has seen the world but still calls Peachtree Corners home.

A graduate of Norcross High School, he ran track and cross country and was part of the ultimate frisbee club team there. He was also a member of the Christian Athlete’s Club and took IB and AP classes.

Upon graduation, James accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he has successfully completed rigorous first-year courses in preparation for future commission as an Army officer.

James’ desire to go into the military came in part from his

of the Peachtree Corners congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he’s currently on a two-year sabbatical from the academy, with plans to leave in early 2026 to serve and teach in Trujillo, Peru.

When James is home, he enjoys spending time with his five brothers and sisters, visiting the YMCA or refueling at Chipotle.

[But] the thing I love most about Peachtree Corners are the people,” he said. “The people are good people [with] the Southern hospitality that the South is known for. One person in particular, [one of my mentors], Colonel Bob Ballagh, … a graduate of West Point [who served] the country selflessly, showed me the true spirit of Peachtree Corners — selfless service, discipline, honesty and courage. ▪

James’ mother’s history also made an impression.

“Being raised under … communism, my mother began to value the freedoms that had been taken away from her,” he said. “When she immigrated to the U.S., where she gained her citizenship, she didn’t take anything for granted … Being a teacher and scholar, she constantly pushed me to continue my education and always seek the truth.”

Today, James is doing that not only as a West Point cadet, but also as a Christian missionary. A member

Kristin Conner — CEO, CURE Childhood Cancer Peachtree Corners resident Kristin Connor is one of childhood cancer’s biggest fighters. After her infant son’s battle against cancer, her life goal was to do everything she could to advance scientific research so all children have a chance to grow up and realize their dreams.

“My son Brandon was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma when he was just four weeks old,” she shared.

“From the moment he was diagnosed, our world revolved around trying to save his life.”

The family’s two year journey through treatment was terrifying and overwhelming. But Connor said it opened her eyes to the reality that families facing childhood cancer desperately need better treatments, better answers and better support.

Brandon survived, and he’s now a healthy young adult. But Connor said

she’s “never forgotten what it felt like to be a parent in that fight — the fear, the fragility and the helplessness.”

“I knew I couldn’t just be grateful

that our story had a good outcome. I felt a responsibility to help change the story for other families,” she said.

That’s what led her to CURE Childhood Cancer. Since 2006, Connor, a former business litigator, has served as CEO of the organization, helping raise more than $100 million for research.

“This work is deeply personal for me,” she explained. “Every child reminds me of how vulnerable Brandon once was and how urgently we need better treatments for these children.”

“There is so much about CURE that I’m proud of,” she added, “but a few things stand out. I’m incredibly proud of the impact we’ve had by investing in research that is truly changing outcomes for kids.”

Since 2017, the organization has helped advance precision medicine so children can receive treatments that are targeted, less toxic, and in many

cases, far more effective. “Seeing real progress — new treatment options for kids who once had none — is something I will never take for granted,” she said.

Connor is also proud of the way the organization cares for families. When a child is diagnosed, CURE steps in with meals, emergency financial assistance, counseling and real support that meets families where they are. “Nothing about what we do is abstract — it’s practical, personal and life-changing in the middle of the hardest days of a family’s life.”

What means the most to Connor is that CURE stays focused on the children and families who need them.

“Every decision, every dollar, every priority is centered on giving kids the best chance to live and helping parents survive the unthinkable. That’s the work I’m proud to lead every day.” ▪

Soccer, she was the Booster Club President for seven years.

Beyond soccer, McEwan has embraced — and contributed to — many of the wonderful things Peachtree Corners offers: volunteering at Light Up the Corners, serving on the organizing committee for the PTC Decathlon and staying involved with new events and programs as the city grows.

McEwan believes all these efforts matter. The initiatives she devotes her time to create opportunities for health, wellness and connection —

values that are important to her personally and are at the heart of the organizations she’s joined within Peachtree Corners.

“Thirty years ago, [this] was the perfect place to raise our kids, and today it’s only getting better,” she said. “Health and wellness thrive here. Neighbors support one another. And giving back is part of the culture. As more people recognize what a great city it is and how much it has to offer, these programs will ensure that the community continues to thrive.” ▪

Lauren Abouchar —

Kristen McEwan is a longtime Peachtree Corners resident who embodies the spirit of community that our city is known for. Those who’ve met her have said they were immediately struck by her infectious energy as well as her desire to give back and help others.

McEwan has worked in leadership roles for the YMCA of Metro Atlanta for 35 years, a career that allows her to make positive change not just in her own city, but across the metro area.

She and her husband, Scott, have lived in Amberfield for over 30 years, raising two now-grown daughters, Lacey and Mallory, and connecting in numerous ways to the city that they love.

Despite her demanding career which often takes her outside of Peachtree Corners, she has always

made time to help make this city a better place.

In 1993, as plans for the local YMCA took shape, McEwan helped activate community programming — T-ball and gymnastics at Landmark Church, pool management at swim/ tennis communities, day camp at Simpsonwood, swim lessons at local hotels and fundraising efforts — “all of which helped pave the way for our Robert Fowler YMCA,” she said.

The McEwans have always believed in giving back, especially through soccer. She and Scott coached their daughters from age four, and Kristin helped bring the first Pre-Academy program to the Norcross Soccer Association.

She also served on its board and worked to create an indoor facility “to ensure safety and access for all players.” With Norcross High School

Born and raised in Peachtree Corners, Lauren Abouchar is connected to the community in a number of ways. She attended Simpson Elementary, Pinckneyville Middle School and is now a senior at Norcross High School.

There, she is a bright student, actively involved in extracurriculars, including the Norcross varsity cheer team, the varsity golf team, two honor societies, multiple clubs and the Norcross Student Leadership Team.

Lauren will graduate this spring with an International Baccalaureate diploma, in the top 3% of her class and plans to major in communications at UGA. In addition to scholastic achievements, she is also on a national competitive cheer team, contributing to multiple top-five national finishes.

Lauren said that she’s done gymnastics her whole life, starting with “mommy and me” classes when she was a year old. “My mom instantly knew I was in my happy place. I was tumbling and climbing before I

could walk,” she said.

That love of tumbling led her to take gymnastics at the Fowler YMCA, learning from Coach Ema Jones, who Lauren trained with until 8th grade, when she joined the Continued on page 24

national team.

At the YMCA, Lauren has gone from being coached to helping coach others, first as a volunteer and now as a part-time job.

“When I was one of the older girls on the team, Coach Ema asked me to help out …,” she shared. “I loved it and started volunteering until I was old enough to work at the YMCA.” When asked what she likes best about life in Peachtree Corners, Lau-

ren said, “I love the walk through Simpsonwood Park to the river … knowing many people in the crowd when running Light Up the Corners … and riding my bike or driving just a few minutes to meet up with friends at a coffee shop or the YMCA or [to] shop at The Forum.”

“I am grateful to be born in Peachtree Corners,” she added, “and realize how blessed I am to grow up in this community. So many work together in our town to make this a perfect place to live.”

McIvor coached youth soccer and basketball for many seasons.

“The community of friendship that has developed through the years of membership is beyond compare,” she said. “The Y is truly so much more than a gym.”

Another thing McIvor appreciates about Peachtree Corners is the diversity of dining options. “From Cafe Songhai’s Nigerian cuisine (if you haven’t tried their tomato stew, you haven’t lived) to Sushi Osawa’s vegetable tempura roll, there is no shortage of choices,” she said. “And as someone who craves variety, it means I’m a happy girl when eating out!”

Having moved to Peachtree Corners before it was a city of its own, McIvor said she’s watched it grow and diversify while never losing its charm as a perfect place to raise a family.

“I love this community because I’ve seen time after time that when a neighbor is in need … people show up to help. I don’t take this spirit of kindness for granted, and I’m deeply grateful to be amid it.” ▪

Artist and Advocate Nicole Kang and husband, Tim Ahn, moved to Peachtree Corners with their rescue dog in 2019, shortly after marrying. They were looking for a location that was “comfortably situated between the Korean community in Gwinnett County and all of the excitement happening in Atlanta.”

“Peachtree Corners checked all the boxes for us,” Kang said, “especially as we began to grow our family.”

Currently an artist-in-residence at Midtown Alliance’s Heart of the Arts, where she has a shared dedicated studio space, Kang has been creating art for as long as she can remember. It’s a big part of who she is, how she expresses herself and how she connects with others.

Over the last few years, she’s been involved in a variety of projects — from gallery exhibitions to illustrating children’s books for Alliance Theatre and the Atlanta Mayor’s Summer Reading Program to creating public murals throughout metro Atlanta.

“My art evolves as I have,” she said, “so it makes sense that my most recent work centers around motherhood and celebrating my Korean heritage.”

Advocacy is another important part of Kang’s life, on both a professional and personal level.

Following the 2021 Atlanta spa shootings, Kang focused on uplifting AAPI voices through her artwork.

These efforts led to her current role with the Asian American Advocacy Fund.

“In my work [there], I have the immense privilege of overseeing the Artivism Lab, where we use artists and art as the vehicle for change,” she explained. “I curate, mentor and collaborate with artists on a num-

ber of projects to uplift the AAPI communities. After the … shootings, I realized that I couldn’t wait for things to change.”

In 2022, her daughter was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects 1 in 10,000 girls, which has altered the course of the family’s life.

“She depends on us for every possible need,” said Kang, “but she brings so much love into our lives.”

The family takes things one day at a time, and Kang is grateful that through their daughter they have learned to open their hearts and minds to the disabled community.

“We firmly believe that disabled children and families deserve to live in dignity, and we hope that the world will continue to prioritize and accommodate those who are differently abled,” she said. ▪

Maureen McIvor’s family moved to the Peachtree Station neighborhood in 1982 when she was a teenager. The family had moved often between her 5th and 9th grade years, and she wanted to stay in one place for high school. “[By ninth grade], I’d attended five schools across three states,” she shared.

“My dad promised that once I was in high school, we would stay put, and we did.”

She graduated from Norcross High School, then went on to complete her undergrad at Georgetown University before returning to Atlanta to work and earn an MBA at Emory. She moved back to Peachtree Corners upon completion of her master’s degree and has been here ever since, connected to the community and raising a family.

Today, McIvor wears many hats: she is an angel investor, focused on healthcare products and services (often in companies founded and led by women). She’s an advisor to The Haven Zoo, a north Georgia nonprofit that provides a refuge for exotic and domestic animals that are threatened or endangered. She’s treasurer of the League of Women Voters of Gwinnett. And she’s a fitness instructor at the Fowler YMCA. “We joined the Y, as young families often do, when my first-born was a baby,” she said. “After attending a variety of classes, I became devoted to Body Pump, a group fitness weight lifting program. Several instructors encouraged me to consider joining their ranks, and from there, I was off and running.”

After certification for Body Pump, McIvor became a Schwinn Cycling instructor and TRX instructor, “covering the gamut from cardio to strength to core.” Over the years, the Y has become a second home for the family, as her daughters participated in swim team and other sports and

Tracey Rice — Photographer

For the past 12 years, Peachtree Corners resident Tracey Rice has used her photographic expertise to capture special moments for organizations in and around the city. You will often see her photographing community events for publications, local businesses and non-profits.

Rice’s interest in photography began in 1978 when she got her first film camera (a Canon AE-1). When digital cameras came along, she said she was “too busy working to learn how to take my camera off automatic.” But after retiring from The Coca-Cola Company in 2011, she decided to deepen her practice.

Classes at Showcase School of Photography led to Rice enrolling full-time in Gwinnett Technical College’s photography program, where she graduated with an associate degree in 2015.

“Little did I realize … [that] when you graduate from a technical college, you are already in business.

You have to have completed an internship and have a portfolio, a website, business cards, a price list

and a business and marketing plan.” Her idea of photography as a retirement hobby inadvertently turned into a second career, though she has “loved every minute of it!”

While there’s no genre that Rice doesn’t enjoy, the work she’s best known for is “people photography,” events and real estate.

Still, she said, “There’s nothing more relaxing than heading out with a camera to make fine art ... Looking for great light.

Taking wide landscape shots. Or getting on my knees to get macro shots of tiny things that would otherwise go unnoticed.”

“I am a life-long learner,” she added, “and there is so much to learn about photography. It is like drinking from a never-ending pool of wonder.”

In 2019, Rice was unanimously elected president of the Peachtree Corners Photography Club (PCPC).

Under her leadership, the PCPC has become an official non-profit, growing from an informal gathering of a few camera buffs to almost 100 dues-paying members from around the north metro area.

Reflecting on the bachelor’s degree in music she originally earned from Georgia State University, as well as her corporate career, Rice noted, “It’s interesting that I went from a performing art, through a long career honing strategic, analytical and creative skills, and ended up in a visual art. A full circle. Everything happens for a reason.” ▪

Pouyan Azizpour —

Startup Program Manager, Curiosity Lab A recent addition to Peachtree Corners, Pouyan Azizpour has already begun to make his mark on our tech-friendly city.

As Startup Program Manager at Curiosity Lab, he works with startups across robotics, hardware, software, mobility and city-tech fields, helping founders in a variety of ways: “From talking through their ideas to helping them grow, test, deploy and eventually expand,” he explained.

Another important part of his work is strengthening and growing the local entrepreneurial community. “I focus on bringing more activity, collaboration and opportunities to the Innovation Center and to the broader Peachtree Corners area,” he shared, “especially the Technology Park.”

He connects with teams locally, nationally and internationally to bring innovative companies to the city and help them build a strong foundation to scale. His goal? To help founders thrive while elevating Peachtree Corners as a top hub for smart city and deep-tech innovation.

“For most of my life, I was either building businesses and startups or helping other founders grow theirs,” he said. “At some point, I realized that supporting multiple founders — instead of focusing on just one company — energized me the most.”

That realization led him to work

with different innovation centers, accelerators and entrepreneurial communities — most recently in the Texas startup ecosystem — before joining Curiosity Lab. Two years ago, a friend suggested Azizpour visit Peachtree Corners. “And I immediately understood why,” he said. “I had visited many innovation centers around the county, but this one felt different — the environment, the testbed, the community and the mindset of the people running the city all stood out as truly unique.”

A year later, Azizpour met with the Curiosity Lab leadership team, and shortly after, joined as the startup program manager. “It has been an amazing experience since day one,” he said.

Today, Azizpour and his wife, who is also in the tech industry, are looking to move to Peachtree Corners, deepening their connection to the city. As Azizpour spends most of his days here working with founders, partners and the city team, they say it already feels like a second home.

“I love the city’s balance — peaceful, community-oriented, yet home to some of the most advanced smart-city infrastructure in the county,” Azizpour said. “As someone who joined recently and has lived and worked in different cities, I can honestly say Peachtree Corners is one of the best places I’ve experienced.” ▪

Dr. Paul Cable — High School Principal at Greater Atlanta Christian School As High School Principal at Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC), Dr. Paul Cable brings a steady, thoughtful presence — shaped by years of teaching, ministry and service — to the school and to the community.

Although newer to Peachtree Corners, the Cable family has already rooted themselves in the community, settling into the Peachtree Station neighborhood and enjoying places like Town Center and The Forum. Their ties to the city began even before the move, though, as their children were part of local Bible studies and the family spent a lot of time in the area.

Dr. Cable serves on the board of Metro Atlanta Seminary and on the worship team at Perimeter Church, where his wife Ashley is an asso-

ciate counselor. They have three children who attend GAC: Graeme (16), Eleanor (14) and Silas (12). And, as a family, they all enjoy playing music together.

Dr. Cable’s path to education began with a sense of calling that he and Ashley felt early in their

marriage. While in seminary in Louisville, he discovered that teaching in a classroom setting fit naturally alongside his studies. After returning to Georgia to help start a church, he taught classes full-time online while finishing his degree.

Joining GAC in 2016 as a Latin teacher, his first impression of the school was a happy one. “I was not just blown away by the campus, but immediately by the competence of the teachers. Teachers spoke about teaching as something that they enjoy,” he said.

Over the last nine years at GAC, Dr. Cable has taught Latin and Bible, coached baseball, helped launch GAC’s online Ethos School and has served as Dean of Academics for Ethos, as well as Dean of Student Culture. In 2023, he stepped into his current position as high school principal.

In each role, and within the greater community, Dr. Cable has long encouraged young people to “discover their strengths — whether that’s in academics, the arts, athletics or leadership — and to use them with confidence.”

And, with service being central to his vision, he’s also committed to “teaching students to prioritize the needs of others and invest in the world around them.” ▪

hough the new year has just begun and we’re facing several more weeks of winter, some families are already turning their thoughts to summer. Or summer camps, to be more precise.

Finding the right camp for your kids can mean the difference between a good summer break and an awesome summer break, so it’s never too early to start planning.

Fortunately, whether your child is interested in the arts, wants to take a deeper dive into coding or robotics or spend their summer practicing and playing their favorite sport, there are camps in Peachtree Corners — or a short drive away — to match just about any interest. Club Pilates Pilates engages every muscle attached to the hip, General Manager Joanna Shook informed me. “Some people think the core is just the abdominal muscles, but in Pilates we work the entire core — the powerhouse — in the front and back of the body.”

Club Pilates offers free 30-minute intro classes, which gives those new to Reformer Pilates the opportunity to try the equipment and make sure it’s something they like. “The only other requirement[s] … for someone new [are] grip socks and a great atti-

My favorite tip from this fitness expert is to schedule workouts and think of them as appointments you can’t break unless you’re sick or have a family emergency. Eventually, Economos said, your body will crave it.

Body Care and Recovery Perspire Sauna Studio Team Lead, Mahogany Daniels, revealed some benefits of the chromatherapy available at Perspire.

Some Assembly Required Wesleyan School Launches a Parenting Podcast with Heart, Humor and Real Strategies

P

arenting rarely feels simple, and it certainly does not come with instructions. So Wesleyan School created “Some Assembly Required: Because Kids Don’t Come With an Instruction Manual” to meet parents in that very space, offering steady guidance through honest conversations and expert insight.

The new podcast, produced on Wesleyan’s campus in Peachtree Corners, takes its name from a truth every parent knows well. Raising a child is beautiful and unpredictable. Mistakes happen. Growth takes time. And sometimes you need someone to tell you that you are doing better than you think.

Expert voices at the center The show is hosted by Assistant Head of School for External Affairs Jennifer Copeland and Communications Director Ann Cousins. They guide each conversation with warmth, humor and humility while inviting experts to take the lead.

“We want to give parents things to consider,” Copeland said. “There is no single right way to raise a kid.”

Each episode pairs the hosts with a professional whose work directly connects to the topic at hand.

Guests include educators, counselors, financial specialists, nonprofit leaders and university experts.

Some guests come from right here in Peachtree Corners and nearby communities. Others serve children and parents across Georgia and beyond, bringing a broader perspective to the questions local families are already asking.

One example is an upcoming episode on sports hyper-specialization. Copeland said the team felt grateful for the chance to welcome Britt Lee, co-founder of Pure Athlete, a Peachtree Corners based organization. “We were super lucky,” she said.

“Britt Lee came over to campus and recorded with us.” His perspective adds a local yet highly experienced voice to a pressure many families feel as children move deeper into competitive sports.

Their goal is simple. They want to ease pressure on parents and bring practical, trustworthy insight into everyday decisions.

Lessons that begin at home Although the podcast centers on professionals, many of its strongest questions come from the hosts’ own homes and stories from campus. Cousins is navigating early motherhood and the world of nap schedules, first holidays and shifting routines.

Copeland is raising a high school senior and a sophomore on the brink of adulthood.

“We often tell each other that we lived podcast content that morning,” Copeland said.

For Cousins, that often looks like the tender chaos of early motherhood. As her baby’s first Christmas approached, she realized she was quietly carrying big expectations. She wanted it to feel special, but she also wanted it to feel realistic. So she stopped by colleagues’ offices and asked how their families handled holidays in stressful years.

They told stories about beloved traditions that had to pause during seasons of illness and grief and about small rituals that stayed steady no matter what. Cousins listened as they described Christmas mornings in hospital rooms, celebrations shifted to grandparents’ homes and simple moments that meant more than elaborate plans. Those conversations helped her see that healthy traditions are meant to bend with a family’s needs, not break parents under the weight of perfection.

Together they unpack executive function skills and show how flexibility, transition time and emotional regulation affect the first part of every school day. It has been a popular episode for coworkers and friends who told the hosts they felt seen in their own lives.

“You start realizing, okay, we hit a nerve with that one, because people can relate,” Copeland said.

Where research meets real life

Each episode blends personal storytelling with practical guidance. Families hear experts explain what they see in classrooms, counseling offices, athletic programs and college advising sessions.

One early episode, “Getting Everyone Out the Door Without Losing Your Mind,” features Karyn Vickery and Ellen Hill. Vickery serves as director of academic support at Wesleyan School, and Hill is director of community engagement at The Schenck

The heartbeat behind some assembly required When asked about their hopes for families and the lessons that guide them, both hosts answered from the heart. Cousins carries an image from Head of School Chris Cleveland’s episode, “Parenting is a Marathon,” wherever she goes. “Parent with a telescope, not a microscope,” she said, quoting Cleveland. “The telescope helps you see the bigger picture.”

Copeland holds onto advice she once received from other parents. “I am not raising versions of me,” she said. “I am raising two separate human beings.” She hopes her sons enter adulthood with confidence, purpose and a deep trust in home. “No matter how tricky and hard it gets, the relationship is what carries you,” she said.

Both hosts hope families finish each episode feeling steadier, not overwhelmed. Copeland said she wants parents to breathe again. “The expectation is not perfection,” she said. “We are all doing the best we can.”

Cousins hopes the podcast will spark real conversations among friends, in carpool lines and around kitchen tables. “I feel more equipped to talk about parenting,” she said. “I hope other parents feel the same way.”

Good Samaritan’s Access Academy Graduates First Cohort of Medical Assistants

hen three young people recited the words of the AAMA Medical Assistant Creed on December 9, they were opening the door to careers that held significant promise due to strong job growth, high demand and stability, driven largely by an aging population and medical advancements. They were the graduates of the first cohort of Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett’s (Good Sam) Access Academy.

The low-cost, 19-week medical assistant certification program for low-income/minority students seeking healthcare careers provides hands-on training, community clinics and externships to prepare them for entry-level roles, bridging workforce gaps in Gwinnett County. The program offers scholarships, uses medical volunteers and aims to make healthcare careers accessible for those who may have barriers to success.

During the ceremony students were presented with certificates of completion and pins marking the achievement. The tradition marks graduates’ transition from students to healthcare professionals, where they receive a pin symbolizing their hard work, dedication and readiness for patient care after completing the rigorous training. The licentiates had dreamed of embarking on medical careers for a long time and acknowledged the advantages of the small class size and individual attention.

“I’m pursuing my bachelor’s to be a doctor before going to med school, and so this is a stepping stone,” said 18-year-old Johan Biju. “I want to start with medical assisting, so I can get more clinical hours, get more patient interaction and things like that.”

First steps on the path

Community helping community Although medical assisting programs have existed for a long time, incorporating one with the area’s only “safety-net” clinic was a new concept.

Good Sam is a nonprofit organization that provides routine non-emergency medical and dental services for the uninsured and underinsured working poor in the community — many of whom are made up of immigrant families with little or no English language skills.

In an effort to do the most good, Good Sam administrators envisioned a way to allow the community to help its members.

“Several years ago, Greg Lang, who is my predecessor, and I were talking about … how we wanted to come up with a way to train younger students, those who may not know if they want to go into health care, who may need a hand up, because they’re brand new to the medical field,” said Good Sam CEO Shameka Allen.

The centers have a reputation for hosting many master’s level students such as physician assistants and nurse practitioners in externships in the two clinics.

“We’ve been in the training business for over a decade,” said Allen. “And now [this program] literally

All three of the graduates are first- or second-generation Americans whose bilingual skills help with communication. Samantha Alonso Torres started working at Good Sam a week before the graduation event. She’s fluent in Spanish and is thrilled to begin her career where she received so much knowledge and encouragement.

“I always knew that in the near future I want to do nursing,” she said. “Being a medical assistant is just me putting a foot in that pathway.”

At 20 years old, she’s the first one in her family in the medical field, but she hopes to be a role model for younger relatives.

“I like that I can give them advice on what to do, on how to get into health care,” she said.

Similarly, Laylha Velasquez Pineda’s family experiences had an influence on her decision to join the medical profession. Her younger brother had a health crisis that awakened her nurturing nature.

“Once I saw how that nurse literally saved his life, it just sparked something in me,” she said. “I really admire that person until this day because he saved my little brother’s life. And I want to be able to be there for people too. Even though I know things sometimes go wrong, I know that I can do my best to help.”

The 19-year-old has aspirations to become an orthopedic surgeon. Surgery is an area that Biju is interested in as well. He graduated from high school in May and went right into the Access Academy program in June.

“My mom is a nurse. So, she always tells stories about health care in general, and I like that,” he said.

“Last year, I shadowed a doctor in my mom’s hospital. So I watched him do surgeries, a cardio thoracic surgeon, actually. And it was really eye opening for me, and it was really inspiring.”

Supporting local needs Allen also thanked State Rep. Marvin Lim, D-Norcross, for his support. He’s the CEO and founder of Lucky Shoals Community Association, a nonprofit focused on community development and improvement.

“About one in four people [in this area] don’t have health insurance. At the same time, healthcare is one of our strongest workforces,” he said. “Good Samaritan has been a wonderful resource, certainly, to get value-based, really, really good health care across the spectrum and continuum.”

Lim added that he’s excited for the Access Academy program in particular because it utilizes the strengths of the community to address their needs.

He’s glad that Good Sam remains a resource for those that may be reluctant to seek medical care elsewhere.

“What I’ve appreciated about Good Samaritan is, again, true to their values, they are in the community, so they lower those barriers as much as possible,” he said. “If you’re afraid of driving to Northside Piedmont to get care. You can come here. The drive is shorter. So whatever fears you have — they’re still valid, of course — but they’re reducing so many of those barriers across cost, culture and language.”

Looking to the future Although the first class was smaller than they anticipated, Allen said they are capping each one at ten students.

“That doesn’t mean we won’t take more than ten students,” she said. “We’d just have to add another instructor.”

A new building has already been purchased to house Access Academy and is expected to open next year.

“I think we’re uniquely qualified, because even before we send [students] to their extern sites, they’ve been up in our clinic, already seeing patients and working with our medical assistants,” said Allen. “At most colleges, they don’t get that experience until they go to externships, so it’s almost like throwing them into the wolf pack. But here, as they’re going through their courses, they’re actually working with real, live patients in our clinic.”

The Forum at Peachtree Corners continues to welcome exciting new restaurants and retail shops as part of their ongoing development. Most recently, three new (and much-anticipated) eateries opened their doors to residents and visitors in the Peachtree Corners community.

Politan Row at The Forum recently welcomed Buzzin’ Burgers to the food hall lineup.

Founded in Kennesaw in 2024 by Atlanta entrepreneur, Jay Charaniya, the counter-service restaurant features an affordably priced menu of juicy, cheesy smash burgers, Philly cheese steaks, wings and more — all “buzzing with flavor.” All of the food is Halal and available for dine in or delivery.

For those with a sweet tooth, they also offer decadent and delicious shakes, with Choco Buzz Bomb Cookie, Vanilla Twinkle and Super Strawberry just a few of the options to choose from.

This location is the third for the concept, which has had notable success with its other two locations in Kennesaw and Dunwoody.

Park27 Korean BBQ Popular K-BBQ spot, Park27 has opened their third location in the former Aomi restaurant space at The Forum. s we begin a new year, Peachtree Corners stands at an exciting moment—one shaped by reflection, momentum, and the promise of what lies ahead. A new year invites us not only to look back with pride at what we’ve accomplished together, but to look forward with confidence and purpose toward the future we are building as a community.

Peachtree Corners has always been defined by its people. Our city’s strength is found in engaged residents, caring neighbors, dedicated volunteers, and local businesses that believe in this community. These relationships form the foundation of who we are and guide the decisions we make as we continue to grow thoughtfully and responsibly.

Over the past year, Peachtree Corners has continued to evolve—embracing innovation, investing in infrastructure, and strengthening opportunities for connection and economic vitality.

Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners Appoints Emily Heintz as Executive Director to Lead Next Phase of Innovation Campus Growth Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners today announced the appointment of Emily Heintz as its new Executive Director, bringing a proven record of leadership across emerging technology, venture capital and economic development. Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment as Curiosity Lab accelerates its smart city deployments and prepares for the next chapter of its Innovation Campus expansion.

“Emily is a tremendous addition to the Curiosity Lab team and to the City of Peachtree Corners,” said Brian Johnson, City Manager of Peachtree Corners and member of the Curiosity Lab Board of Directors. “Her mix of executive experience, strategic insight and ecosystem-building leadership positions us well for this next phase of growth. Emily understands how innovation actually scales in real-world environments, and I am confident she will help strengthen our partnerships, expand our reach and elevate our role as a global leader in smart city technology.”

With more than 15 years of experience, Heintz has built a career at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship and public-private collaboration. She has worked in high-growth startups, venture capital, statewide economic development organizations and major innovation networks. As Executive Director, she will oversee strategic partnerships across public and private sectors, guide campus expansion initiatives, strengthen relationships with current members and collaborators, and advance Curiosity Lab’s global presence.

Before joining Curiosity Lab, Heintz served as Director of Business Intelligence at SkySpecs, where she led strategic intelligence initiatives supporting executive and board decision-making.

She previously founded EntryPoint, a Midwest-based research and strategy firm advancing innovation and inclusive entrepreneurship through data-driven insights. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles with the Michigan Venture Capital Association, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Ann Arbor SPARK, where she helped strengthen state and regional entrepreneurial networks and innovation programs.

Heintz joins Curiosity Lab as the organization continues to expand its footprint and impact. Since 2019, the Lab has partnered with more than 180 companies ranging from early-stage startups to global corporations. Its deployments now span the community’s 500-acre Technology Park Innovation Campus, SR141 and the Peachtree Corners Town Center, enabling companies to test connected mobility, intelligent infrastructure, IoT and smart city technologies in a real municipal environment.

Meet Percy The Chipmunk: PTCs New Mascot

Percy The Chipmunk grew up in the mountains of North Georgia where he was known for his speed, agility, and boundless love of music. From a pup, he would spend his days darting around, exploring trails, organizing friendly acorn hunts, and gathering friends for impromptu concerts under the stars and tapping his paws to the beat.

As Percy grew older, he dreamed of a place with a vibrant community where he could share his love for both adventure and music. When he heard about Peachtree Corners—a city known for its warm community and lively concert scene—he knew it was the perfect place for him to call home.

When Percy arrived in Peachtree Corners, he immediately felt the rhythm of the city and made himself at home in a cozy tree in Jones Bridge Park. By day, Percy was an unstoppable ball of energy, organiz-

ing “Chipmunk Challenges” for his friends, racing through the parks, and connecting with animals from all corners of the community. But when the sun went down, Percy’s love for music took center stage. He’d gather the animals in the trees around the Town Green for concerts, tapping sticks and acorns together to create their own beats.

Percy quickly became known as the “Party Starter” of the Peachtree Corners parks, always leading the way in music and movement. He would host “Twilight Jam Sessions” for everyone to enjoy, where he played his acornshell drums and encouraged other animals to clap, dance, and sing along.

Whether he was leading a morning group run or an evening concert under the stars, Percy’s joy and energy were contagious.

Through the introduction of a little bird, the Communications Director

recognized Percy’s passion for fostering community among the animals and knew he could do the same with the residents.

Today it has been announced that Percy has formally taken a position as the official mascot of Peachtree Corners. Now, Percy will join in many City events, rallying kids and adults alike to stay active, work together,

and celebrate the City they love.

With an ever-present smile, he leads concerts, cheers people on, and reminds everyone that life is better when you’re moving to the beat and sharing it with others.

Percy’s motto? “Life is a lot more fun when you have people to share it with!”

hen you walk through your neighborhood, you might pass stormwater drains without giving them much thought.

But these small openings along our streets play a big role in protecting our waterways—and they need our attention more than ever.

Reminder: Public Information Open House – Crooked Creek Trail Project between Spalding Drive and Peachtree Corners Circle The City of Peachtree Corners will hold a Public Information Open House on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Peachtree Corners City Hall, located at 310 Technology Parkway, to discuss the proposed Crooked Creek Trail Project.

This project proposes the construction of a 1.3-mile shared use path along Crooked Creek, with an additional 0.6 miles of spurs and loops providing connections to surrounding neighborhoods and communities. The project corridor begins at Spalding Drive, approximately 350 feet southwest of River Exchange Drive (north terminus), and extends to Peachtree Corners Circle, between

Elmside Village Lane and Klinect Court (southern terminus).

The purpose of this open house is to provide residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to view the project plans, ask questions, and submit comments regarding the proposed improvements.

The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It will be conducted in an informal, drop-in format, and the public is invited to attend at any time during these hours. No formal presentation will be given.
