Fun for a Good Cause at Curiosi

THE CHARITY RUN/WALK WILL BE PART OF CURIOSITY LAB’S ANNUAL CRITERIUM EVENT Expect a day of thrilling races and family-friendly fun at the inaugural Curiosity Lab Charity 5K Run/Walk followed by the Curiosity Lab Criterium on Sunday, April 27.

The day-long community event will kick off at 8 a.m., when registration opens for the 5K. The race will start at 9 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m., and the Criterium will begin at 11:15 a.m.

In addition to the running and cycling events, there will also be kid’s races, food & beverage vendors, a kids zone, a DJ spinning tunes and more fun throughout the day.

THE CHARITY 5K RUN/WALK Presented by Werfen and Sidel, with additional support provided by Atlas Collaborative and the City of Peachtree Corners, the Charity 5K Run/Walk will benefit the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and 100% of the registration fees will be donated.

While no prizes will be given for the race, bib timing will be used for those who would like to see their times. And each registrant will

CURIOSITY LAB CRITERIUM Following the 5K, hang around and experience the Curiosity Lab Criterium, part of U.S. Pro Cycling’s Speed Week.

Speed Week is a premiere week-long event on the U.S. Pro Cycling Circuit that draws cyclists from around the world, including Olympic medalists and world and national champions. In 2024, the professional men’s and women’s events drew cyclists from over 30 states and more than 20 countries.

Join in the excitement and watch as some of the world’s top male and female Criterium Racers tackle the most challenging track on the circuit.

Grab a fork and join the Peachtree Corners Business Association on June 26 for their annual PCBA Taste of Peachtree Corners event. Enjoy an evening of delicious bites and drinks as you sample foods from some of the area’s best restaurants and businesses.

Memorial Day Service and Youth Challenge On Memorial Day we honor the men and women who served in the U.S. military and made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.

This year, the community is invited to gather at the Peachtree Corners Veterans Monument on May 26 to recognize that sacrifice and honor the lives of those who died while serving.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. and include remarks from the mayor and other speakers.

The raising of the flag, a laying of the wreath and moment of silence will also be part of the ceremony.

Following the service, the city will host a Memorial Day Youth Challenge.

The Memorial Day Challenge is an obstacle course-themed physical competition for kids and teens ages 9 to 18 with the purpose of increasing the knowledge and appreciation of Memorial Day and those we honor.

The challenge will be held at Town Center’s Fort Pain starting at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is $15 and can be done online or in person the morning of the competition.

Participants will receive a t-shirt, dog tags and refreshments. An award ceremony will be held following the event.

The King of Pops will also be onsite to hand out 250 popsicles to the participants. •

Light Up the Corners 20 It’s time to sign up for the best (and only) Glow Run and Twilight Trot in Peachtree Corners!

Registration is now open to participate in this year’s Light Up the Corners race, scheduled for Saturday, August 16 at The Forum.

The 1k Twilight Trot will start at 8 p.m., and the four-mile Glow Run begins at 8:30 p.m. Once the runners have done their thing, a fun postrace party will follow.

This annual event is not only an exciting community tradition, but also a fundraiser for the Why It Matters campaign at the Fowler Family YMCA. All proceeds from registration goes directly to helping struggling families and children in the community benefit from the life-changing programs and services offered at the YMCA. Individual registration is $40 through July 31; $45 if you register between August 1–14; and $50 if you wait to sign up on August 15 or 16. Those registering as a team of four or more will save $5–$10 per registration.

Sponsorships available In addition to individual and team registrations, organizers also rely on the generosity and support of local businesses to make each year’s fundraising event successful. And this year is no different. If you’d like to support their efforts through a sponsorship, information can be found on the Light Up the Corners 2025 website.

T-shirt logo contest Another way to take part is to enter the t-shirt logo design contest.

Artwork and entry forms are due by May 16, and judges will be looking for one dynamic image to represent the

Designed to foster hands-on student research, industry collaboration and real-world technology breakthroughs, the Atrium strengthens Peachtree Corners’ position as a regional epicenter for innovation and experiential learning.

According to the Georgia Tech website, the GT Atrium is a “scalable gathering place and a portal to real and virtual services. … an open space that can be programmed to suit the needs of learners, a venue for performances and events and a way to provide social glue for [those] who want to be associated with the Institute.”

Staffed with highly skilled educational professionals and equipped with specialized technology and resources, the Atrium will be available to anyone with Georgia Tech credentials and on a pay-forservice or subscription basis to non-Georgia Tech students. •
