Microsoft Teams Quick Guide to Channels Teams overview What is Teams? Teams is an online communication and collaboration hub which features group and private chat, file sharing, notes and conversation spaces. Through Teams, students will be able to: • • • •

Participate in live group conversations Chat privately via text chat or audio/video calls View documents and files uploaded by tutors Work on shared documents with other students

How to access Teams Teams is part of Microsoft Office 365. The desktop app is installed on all LSTM PCs. There is also a link to the specific Team on each module homepage:

When you log in to Teams, you will see your ‘dashboard’ page. This displays all Teams you are a member of as tiles. A Team is a collection of people, conversations, files and tools – all in on place. You should see a Team tile relating to the module (e.g. DLTROP203) –this is your Team for that module.
