PARANOIA. I gaze into the mirror, who there do I see? The illusion I portray, or is it really me? For I doubt my credibility, to exist as others do, Trapped within my wandering thoughts, anxie es forging through, To leave me in a state of mind, where it’s difficult to cope, For surely I am not worthy, to believe that there is hope, Con nually I do analyse, pu ng myself down, With intelligence that appreciates, its me to turn my life around, Struggling with indecision, I surround myself with fear Shu ng out the inner wisdom, my heart longs for to hear, My discernment understands, to realise the focus of my dreams, I have to overcome the confusion, the conflict my mind does scheme, But in this process, this venturing out, beyond my comfort shield, I have to face my vulnerability, that I myself will be revealed, The real me with all my faults, naked and exposed, The side that no-one sees, that no-one really knows, For if I allow this person, to take over me, I cannot hide behind the subterfuge, that is insecurity, I'm scared, I tremor with inner rage, my heart begins to pace, I cannot cope with failure, of making s ll more mistakes, I allow my fear of loneliness, to find solitude inside, Playing out life's dilemmas, within the complexity of my mind, The ques ons they are endless, as I search to find the truth, The answers seem to contradict, ll each one is disproved, I know that I have quali es, that are true and just, But within my nature, I find it difficult to trust, That I am truly capable of achieving anything, Just what is my purpose, should I end everything, A feeling washes over me, a sense of inner peace, The freedom unexplainable, my past I have released, The state of my existence now, will never be the same, For Myself I have forgiven, Myself I love again, These words they tell a story, that does not have to be, If we believe in our poten al, not our inadequacies, And reach beyond the point, the fine dividing line, And accept ourselves, for who we are, When our true selves we find.
