Recognized Organizations may reserve space for sponsored events and meetings through their organization Advisor and Promise Liaison. To reserve space, complete a Room Request Form.. It is recommended that requests are submitted to your Liaison at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the event/meeting to ensure adequate time to receive space approval and market your event. Once you have a confirmed space, submit your Event Request via the Event Registration Form on Presence. (more information in Section 3: Events) to your Promise liaison. . The full room reservation process will be outlined in Student Organization Trainings and on Presence.

Organization Officers

Executive Officer Descriptions

Recognized Organizations must have the following officers in order to maintain recognition. Adding additional officers is at the discretion of the organization in accordance with their bylaws

1. President: Leads the organization, sets short term and long term goals, and maintains awareness of all organization matters, delegates tasks, attends student leader retreats, meets with Advisor/the Engagement Team on a regular basis, runs Executive Board meetings, etc. 2. Vice President: Acts as President in their absence; assists the President in the leadership and management of the organization, follows other duties as assigned by the

President.; Runs General Membership Meetings 3. Secretary: Manages administrative tasks including: scheduling processes for meetings and events, taking and uploading meeting minutes, distributing minutes to members, advisor and LIU Promise, tracks attendance at organization meetings and events.

Secretary should input all events into Presence via the Event Registration Form including general membership meetings. 4. Treasurer: Manages financial aspects of the organization including: keeping track of all financial records, maintains accurate account of funds, and gives reports to necessary parties, including uploading receipts to Presence 5. Senator: Represents the student organization monthly during the Student Government

Association Senate, attends all required Student Government meetings and trainings

Each officer is responsible for their specific duties; however, all officers and members should work together to benefit the organization and each other’s development. Each organization may also have additional officers, provided the position descriptions are unique to the respective organization. LIU Promise does not recognize co-presidents.
