We’re (pecan) nuts for this one! All of Jamworks’ preserves are gluten and preservative free and are made using local produce where possible. Located in the heart of the Granite Belt, just 10km south of the Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre, you’ll find Steph Ingall and Christine Hood of Jamworks Gourmet Foods working away in their new custom built Jamworks building. Steph & Christine specialise in producing premium quality jams and preserves, using locally grown produce where possible. And while we know jams are a staple in just about anyone’s kitchen, it’s their creative combinations that really got our mouths watering. Many of their products are award winning and it’s not hard to see why. We chose this Plum and Pecan Nut Paste because it was such a unique flavour combination that we’re certain will compliment any Christmas cheese platter. With over 100+ gourmet products, all goods are handmade in small batches and most of them are available from their on-line store. Garlic makes everything delicious. It’s a flavour foundation to memorable meals, and sometimes the hero too. At Weyhill Farm in Ranceby, Victoria, they’re all about growing great garlic naturally. Then sharing it with fellow fresh Aussie-grown food lovers around the country, for a reasonable price of course. Zesty and delicious, this farm grown and made lemon garlic salt is a blend of garlic, lemon rind, lemon thyme and Australian sea salt. Inspired by the savoury staple, this range is roasted in a mix of chives, sour cream and herbs to carry those classic flavours. Wondaree has been owned and run by Greg & Wendy O’Neill since 1983. The farm is located on a beautiful spot on the Atherton Tablelands, where the right amounts of rain and sunshine produces a carpet of green that spans the countryside and blankets the encircling mountains, a panorama visible from their back patio. Wondaree macadamia nuts are farmed on this beautiful spot by Greg under the watchful eye of Roy, their Kelpie. For all the beauty of Far North Queensland, it sits perilously in the path of cyclones whose effect on the environment can be brutal. In the space of just six years between 2006 and 2011, Wondaree was twice hit by cyclones that devastated the orchard, wiping out 5,500 trees and years of labour. In October 2012, after sixteen years of working in the industry, Director Chef / Pâtissier Younes and his wife Kate started Asterisk Kitchen from what was no more than a home-kitchen testing sweet cakes at the local market. Their kitchen is now based in Ringwood, Victoria where they have perfected a range of gourmet delights. Younes began his career in the Loire Valley, France and it is from these culinary foundations that he continues to research and develop products that aim to reflect French elegance, fine dining and a deep philosophy for good food. The exact origin of the meringues is disputed, some say the first record of the recipe began in Switzerland whilst others claim that the French were already serving meringue by the time the Swiss became interested in the French Kingdom.
