James Sellicks in the Community The Martin Lawrence Memorial Trust James Sellicks Oakham are delighted to announce their continued support in 2016 for The Martin Lawrence Memorial Trust. The charity was officially launched in February 2015 in memory of Martin Lawrence, who lived in Manton in Rutland, played golf at Luffenham Heath Golf Club and for seven years was Chairman of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. Martin was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in October 2012 and sadly passed away in October 2014. The Trust was set up by Martin’s wife Tricia and their many friends and colleagues to support projects in Africa and the UK close to Martin’s heart and enabling his many friends to get together at social and sporting events to have fun and raise funds.

Rutland Osprey Project

Funds raised from events held in 2015 plus donations have supported: Rutland Osprey Project: Providing wildlife education to schools in both the UK and Africa. Send a Cow: Seventeen self-help groups and six school clubs in Ethiopia. Fred Trueman Cricket League: Enabling state schools to play competitive cricket. MNDA: The Motor Neurone Disease Association funds and promotes global research into the disease and provides support to people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Send a Cow

The Trust has so far provided £35,000 to Send a Cow, £5,011 to the Fred Trueman Cricket League (to purchase complete kits for 13 new schools) and £5,000 to the Rutland Osprey Project with lots more financial support still to come. James Sellicks Oakham is looking forward to working with Tricia and the MLMT over the coming months and with such a wide range of causes being supported through the Trust it is surely something everyone will want to be part of. The volume of sales generated within our Leicester office is an extremely useful barometer of activity across all sectors of the property market. In 2015 we saw confidence grow within the housing market in Leicestershire with more people looking to make the move. One of the main issues restricting the buying process last year was, however, the lack of available property for people to buy.
