Fall weekends in the South are all about football and cheering on the home team. If you’re a Georgia Bulldog fan, you’re about to get hyped for this issue featuring former University of Georgia wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion, Malcolm Mitchell. Since his time on the football field has ended, he has shifted his energy to focus on his passion for literacy and children. Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to interview Mitchell for this issue of the Ne[x]t Magazine. It was definitely a highlight and such a treat to meet him. He is super kind, passionate, generous, and funny. We are both from South Georgia, so aside from the interview questions, it was fun to chat about the area we both grew up. You can read the complete interview on page 4. Georgia’s Own Foundation has partnered with Mitchell’s Share the Magic Foundation
to donate books to students across Georgia. We joined Mitchell at a local elementary school to distribute copies of his book, The Magician’s Hat.
