Mr. Jason Markey
LISLE 202 ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

Lisle 202 is pleased to welcome Mr. Jason Markey as the new Assistant Superintendent effective July 1, 2025. He will succeed Dr. Linda Kotalik, who is retiring after 33 years in education, including 20 years of dedicated service in Lisle 202 as a principal, director, and assistant superintendent. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kotalik for her remarkable contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Mr. Markey brings twenty-four years of experience in education and has held various roles throughout his career including teacher (Iowa and East Leyden), assistant principal (Woodstock and East Leyden), principal (East Leyden and Glenbrook North), and most recently, Assistant Superintendent for Academics at Hinsdale District 86.
Mr. Markey is highly regarded for his ability to lead with empathy, equity, and innovation. In his most recent role, he demonstrated the ability to lead with clarity and purpose; successfully cultivating strong relationships with the staff, the Board of Education, and the community. Among his many achievements, Mr. Markey has expanded multilingual services to serve a broader range of students and implemented a comprehensive new process for course and curriculum adoption in collaboration with the Board Academic Committee. These initiatives exemplify his ability to address complex challenges while remaining steadfastly focused on improving student outcomes.
“I hold great respect for the exceptional reputation of Lisle School District, which has long been recognized for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence, comprehensive student programming, and strong community partnerships. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to a district that embodies the values of excellence and collaboration,” stated Mr. Markey.
Superintendent Dr. Keith Filipiak remarked, “Mr. Markey is an accomplished administrator whose extensive professional experience and exceptional skill set will be a valuable asset to the Lisle 202 learning community. I am confident that his leadership and commitment to excellence will foster collaboration and drive success and growth for our students, staff, and the entire school community.”
Mr. Markey completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa, a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Concordia University, and his School Superintendent Licensure from Western Illinois University.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Markey during the 2025-2026 school year!
Lisle District 202 is committed to providing our learning community with the essential education, skills, and experiences for future success.

Vision 202: What’s Next?
Lisle 202 is pleased to share that nearly 100 parents, staff, and community members participated in the Vision 202 conversation on April 29, 2025. After an overview of Lisle 202’s programs, services, finances, and facilities, attendees engaged in small group discussions around what makes our schools special, areas of surprise, future priorities, and topics of interest.
The small group feedback gathered highlighted some key themes: the value of small class sizes and strong community, concerns about growing enrollment, especially at Lisle Elementary School, and the need for expanded facilities and staffing. Participants also expressed strong support for additional student support services, more extracurricular opportunities at the elementary level, and a continued focus on social-emotional learning. In the coming months, our team will carefully review and analyze the feedback to determine next steps as the District continues its work to prepare Lisle 202 students for the future. Keep an eye out for more information in the upcoming school year!
Congratulations and Thank You, Retirees!
Lisle 202 would like to send a warm thank you to our 10 retirees for their many contributions to our students and learning community. With 240 years of collective experience across the District, each has made a tremendous impact on countless students and families.
