Design of urban library Site: Binjiang Street Tianjin, China Apr 2016 - July 2016

Crowd Density & Distribution Subwaystation

Investigate indicates that the main crowd is around the subwaystation, resulting the congestion at the ends of Binjiang street.

The distribution of the original subway stations are uneven, especially at the Binjiang street.

The distant between two stations is more than 1 Km. With the new entrance of underground street system, people can get into the subway system much easier. Plus, with the completion of line4 in the near future, this will be very helpful and practical system for pedestrain.

Block Research

There are 6 motorways across Binjiang street, Hebei roade and Shanxi roade have huge traffic flow.

There will have chaos at the point where the pedestrain meet the traffic. I figure out a way that could reduce the trafic which across the Binjiang street, and allow people walking underground.

1.According to the city texture, the cubic can fit the site and the scale of this area.

2. Divide the cubic in order to enrich the space and become more opening.

3. Central space absorbing the sunlight, the northen side faced the public park and let more sunlight get into the public park.

Readers not only reading in the library, but also reading outside the building, and such things happen frequently in our life.

This kind of area in library can provide readers a quiet environment to do their reading alone, such as learning and doing homework, and without distractions.

In this area, the environment are quiet enough but people can do some low voice discussion, also this area including children reading space and aged people reading space.

Design of Private School Site: Atlanta GA United States Oct 2017 - Dec 2017

MIXED TYPOLOGIES / EDUCATION RESIDENTAL As this program, I designed a private school by combining some knowledges I have learned in last program, such as the influence of light for interieor environment with different shape of the roof, and how to arrange different functions to satisfy my client.

It was a little bit difficult for mapping study at the begining, even made some mistakes, but this is the way how we learn things. The mapping will help us have a better ubderstanding of some area, the population, tne adensity of people and building ,the hight of the building in some area, also the geography and the distribution of the living resource which is the mostimportant for me. We start with a huge area and do some reaserch and then scale into a smaller area according to the result and analysis for the larger one, and then scale to my site area according to the analysis to the smaller mapping reaserch, it is a tough process, but made my idea develop with a logical way.

Massing model is always important with the beginning of one project, it really usefull for help us to thinking and making changes. Plus, I also created some abstract drawing for this massing model, it really helpful for explain the origional thinking and idea of the space and the arrangement.

From the macro model mapping 1, I devided this huge area in 6 parts, and using different materias present different meaning of the information. Newspaper blocks means the active spaces such as plazas, shoppingmalls etc, the thick line means the mainroad system and the thiner line means the second road system.

Sponge means rivers and water systems , white bord means air port. So by this research, I learned that many active spaces are happend around the intersections. That make sence because people are out of road system at these point, they can buy daily necessities or take a rest here. And many parks are near the river systems because it will have more options of hiking for the resident.

Design of Tea Museum Site : Chengdu Sichuan, China Mar 2015 - May 2015

This project pay attention on the relation between the culture and environment, Chengdu is a city which riched by the Jin river, so I want to add the element of water in this project. Plus, due to the characters of tea are relax and slow rhythm life, which is the same character of the city Chengdu, so the building will brings a sense of relax and comfortable, also a feeling of enjoyment.

Design of Cemetery Jul 2016 - Aug 2016 Project of UIA-HYP 2016 People commonly feel sad about death, the traditional view of funeral makes us sorrowful when missing parting people. But in this cemetery, I hope we can turn the sad and grieved emotion to the positive and hopeful mood. In this cemetery design, We combine the ashes with a single plant, and make it happen to continue the life, and make people feel that one life ends, another begins.

Most people define the life of a tree by looking at the growth ring, it seems like they pay much attention on the life span. If we cut the tree vertically, we can see the beautiful wood grain, it seems like we keep the eye on the thickness of the life.

Supposing tree can represent life, we hope this alive and vivid cemetery can grow in the block of city and invites a new and positive comprehension of life with the redefinition of death.

As a tree ,there will grow new twigs and branches along with the knurrs (colored by green).Choosing the knurrs and add some new circle spaces which could run through all the floors, symbolizing that these space will grow a new life. As well as the tree will sprout new twigs in the same places.

MAKE LIFE HAPPEN Have you ever thought about what will happen when you die ? I imagine you could come back to life, through nature. Imagine you could become a tree.

Because death is nothing but a word, the only thing real is life.

This project taught us how to make design with playing with the massing model and abstract drawings, which is very helpful for improving our ability to make different interior space.

Besides , with the requirements of our client, we also practiced our skills to make our design satisfying clients and at the same time, keep our design creativity.

First step ,we plaied with mass and consider different meaning of the massings, and then I started to study what is the connection between the massing and the space.

B R IDG E O N T H E BE LT LI N E Site: Atlanta GA United States Sep 2017 - Oct 2017

This program is about creating a new connection on the belt line where across the north AVE in Atlanta, Georgia. When I was doing the field trip at the site, I noticed that there were so many mix functions, biking, running, walking and traveling. And the biggest advantage of this site is the bridge faced the skyline of Atlanta. So I design a bridge which could separate the different functions and at the same time people could enjoy the city view by a comfortable way.
